  • Thanks. The offer appeared after starting cancellation process for £15 entertainment. So wondering if I could use that as the final bartering chip, or is it worth waiting a little longer too see if any other offers pop up?

Unless it turns off fully it's unlikely you'll get better offers (without asking at least). I'd go back and quote their previous offer and throw in the £15 for Entertainment and see if they'll combine them.

So ive cancelled and now got the standard mydeal offer.

However it doesnt inlcude Sky Q - I already have Sky Q multiroom so dont want to lose that. Can I add that after i opt in for mydeal or should I call up retentions again to get it added on?

Do people think that the deal gets better after it actually disconnects? So should I wait till it cuts off and haggle a new deal before I have to send back the Sky Q kit - does mydeal update if I do that or is it a case of haggling again?

    Thanks all
  • Took out Sky Q 18 months ago after threatening to cancel, they gave me the 1tb main box plus mini box for bedroom, complete TV package with everything for £60. That deal ended a few months ago and just got round to ringing them again to cancel as price going up to £97 next month, first offer was £79 and refused, put through to cancellation team and offered full package for £64 for 18 months, happy with that so happy to accept 👍
  • Just spent best hour on the phone ever.
Had all singing all dancing Sky package - fast broadband, TV, box sets, sports, movies, full HD and multiroom and was paying appx £120/mth.

Just got it down to £74/mth on an 18 month contract.

    That's a whopping £46 a month or £828 over the contract term.

Also got a free boost on broadband and promise of a new hub in a month or two - all for free.

I last posted in 2013 - that is a measure of how happy I am to post this now.

Ensure you get through to 'retentions'. Be polite. Be prepared to walk away and you will get serious wonga off your bill!!

I'm off to limber up before putting 'White Lines' on!!
  • Currently paying £38.20 a month. Been on the old 60% discounts for 3 years now (they kept extending my deals for another 12 months 👍🏻)

Got a letter offering me new discounts but was going up to £65 a month. Currently have full package on HD box (no sky Q or multi room, BB with Plusnet)

Phoned them up, immediately out thru to cancellations who offered £44 for same package. Gave my notice to cancel at the end of my current deal (start of Oct)

Been called back today. Been offered £40 with £10 admin fee. He then waived the fee, said he couldn’t do any better. £35 of I took off the movies. Thinking about it

Anyone got any better than this?
  • So I cancelled with Sky about 3 weeks ago. Gave them a call back a week after that and they were not giving any better deals. But called them back again recently as I was offered the 2Tb Sky Q Multi-room on the MySky app for £13 (previously on Sky+HD).

After speaking to them on the phone first got connected to Win-Back and told them I wanted the Sky Q package with the online sky mydeal package of £15 entertainment, £1 HD etc with it, but they said these offers cannot go together. Told them to connect me to retention as I am cancelling everything after which the lovely guy tried his best to get me a good deal.

After speaking for an hour this is what I was offered:

Sky TV: Sky Q Multiscreen 2Tb (£13), Sky Entertainment (£13), Box sets/ HD (£1 each) + £30 set up free
Broadband: £25 for Superfast Fibre broadband
Mobile: also managed to get 3 sim-only deals with unlimited minutes/ texts + 2GB data for £3 monthly each

    Total = £62 pm

My current deal that is expiring in 31 days is £13 Entertainment + £1 box sets + £1 HD

I rang up today on 0333 759 0938 to say that the new renewal price of £34 was too expensive and I wanted to cancel. They asked if I wanted to speak to Retentions and I said OK.
After a bit of a chat the friendly girl managed to find a manager to apply the same deal on a new 18 month contract and I added Kids TV as well for an extra £1.
She also applied an 18 month discount of £3 off my Sky mobile 2GB £6 a month SIM which was a bonus I wasn't expecting.

    So
    £13 Entertainment +
    £1 box sets +
    £1 HD +
    £1 kids
    = £16 for 18 months

If you have Sky Mobile you get free streaming of the Sky Go app without using your own data which is handy.

If you are polite and friendly the retentions team are good to deal with.

Does anyone know if the mydeal link expires once the contract ends?
