    Hi All.
What kind of percentage discounts are people getting this year? Havent cancelled yet just had the initial conversation guy offered max of 40% off. Have been on a 60% discount for previous 2 years. Having read a lot of the thread I get the feeling that discounts seem generally lower this year? Wondering if anyone is still getting 50% +. Have been with Sky for 20 years now.

Due to the way the Sky packages are structured you'll more likely find individual prices rather than an overall percentage but the new 'norm' appears to be £15 Entertainment and £1 per addon, Cinema is usually £10 per month. With it being outwith the football season, the Sports package is variable, the BT Sports channels should be available by August as part of the Sky Sports packages although whether it's worth doing a deal now and then re-negotiating or waiting for the launch, who knows.
  • Phoned up to cancel yesterday and was offered:

    Entertainment £10 a month (Should be £27)
Boxsets £5 a month (cancel anytime)
    HD free (should be £5)
    Q Experience *multiroom* £6.50 a month (should be £13)

Priced for 18 months. total = £21.50 (or £16.50 with no boxsets)

Accepted the deal, was also offered Sky Sports & Cinema for £20 a month, but declined as don't really watch sports or movies.

Does anyone have a link to the Live Chat function. My current deal is due to expire and I'd rather go through chat than spend ages on the phone.
All I can see is the option to SMS or email.

    Hi again.
Offered this before cancelling so far
£23 entertainment with kids, HD and boxsets
    £16.00 sports with HD
    £11 cinema
£27.00 superfast broadband with broadband boost

    Total £77

Having read through the thread it seems like I should be able to get this down to at least £67?

    What does everyone else think?

UPDATE they have just come back with Ent +kids+hd+boxsets at £20 so now £74

Left sky a few months ago and just received mail offering:
    sky entertainment:£11
    box sets: £1

Got used to not actually having it now tbh.

Spent 1.5 hours on the phone on Friday. My 18 month contract coming to an end. The overall theme and for everyone's awareness is that the percentage discount deals of the past are coming to an end (I've had that confirmed by someone who works at sky). They have overall reduced the price of TV to a point where now they feel that any level of discounting will be comparably minimal. Sky have decided to ease 'heritage' customers into this world by offering 12 months discount (even though you're new contract will be 18 months). So it's possible that you could be in for a shock when your price rises at that point. Best i could get was £71 for everything except kids. Very little price movement on broadband and line rental. I pondering whether its time to split off TV from broadband now and just move phone and broadband providers when that contract ends. I'm not in a virgin media area so have no choice but to go with sky.

Appreciate thoughts and experiences of others.

Looking at this thread it looks like I could do far better. What should the aiming price be for everything minus kids plus line rental, fibre and anytime calls.

Been Sky free for a couple of months now...
Just received an email with a 'come back to Sky deal' of:

£11 pm for 18 months for basic TV
    £11 pm for Movies
    £13 for UHD (inc multi-room)
£1 pm for HD - not sure how they charge this if you're already paying for UHD...
    £1 pm for box sets
    £37 pm total....

At the moment the fee for telephone purchase is waived as their website is down. No idea whether there is an additional fee for the SkyQ/Mini boxes. I may phone and see if I can get anything else thrown in or get multi-room cheaper. Annoyingly if I don't order on the net, I can't get quidco or tcb so I'll be pushing for something in lieu of that.
