Had a call back today while I was working from home. Cut a long story short I've been offered everything I currently have for £16 a month:

    TV M
phone XL with multi-talk add on for mobiles etc
    BB 50Mbps
    And a new router

Just got this months bill and found my deal from above has expired

Looks like monthly bill will be going up to at least £47 when the line rental saver expires!

Will need to get the cancellation in tomorrow and get ready to play the retention’s game again. Wonder if there will be any great deals for Black Friday?
  • Well today I took the plunge and cancelled my VM TV/Broadband/Telephone package.

Retention department didn't offer me any special deals just thanks and hope I change my mind.

Should I be worried I won't be offered a better deal?

    Mickey
    Current package
    Weekend calls
    Broadband 100mb
    TV: M
    £48

have a look at what else is on offer to use as a bargaining tool - if you just say you want a better deal you dont normally get much.

I'm just about to phone and get my cancellation in

Has anybody managed to get the latest price increase wiped from their bill through negotiation?

only if you threaten to leave - you need to put in your cancellation if you want to be taken seriously.
  • Hi, currently on virgin broadband 50mb for £18 a month which is due to end on 24.12.17. I’ve just put my notice in and been offered £25 a month for the same deal with £50 credit. Shall I take it or do you think I could get a better deal?

if you cancel then at worst you'll get the same deal - list above you need to know what the alternatives are and what they cost. Then you can use this to haggle when they phone back

    £23 for 100mb BB/phone (196 + 7p/m). Didn't go through cancellations.
  • I have Big Kahuna Bundle: MultiTalk 75 - 75 Mins to 087,0845 and Std mobiles, 2 additional TV boxes, Full House TV XL, V HD, Vivid 200 and paying £91.97 a Month. They reckon we use 1000GB a month internet. Just called to retentions and all they would offer is to reduce down to £80 a month.

I'm a bit stuffed as my area doesn't have fibre broadband so non virgin broadband would get 11MB Speeds max.

Is £80/mth acceptable or do you reckon if I properly cancel they will call back?

I have the same issue with not being able to get any other fibre services so its Virgin or ADSL.

As for the £80 being acceptable - thats really for you to decide. I wouldn't pay that for TV and BB as we dont watch much and 50Mb BB is fine for our needs.

If you put in your cancellation and then you can wait for a call back - I'd have thuoght spending £90-odd per month would make you valuable and worth doing a deal with but you can only try. If you dont get a deal you can always just stay and I'm sure you can get the £80 you were offered.
