Having put my cancellation in via Whatsapp yesterday, had a call today from Virgin's 'loyalty' team. Been offered these packages for Broadband (speeds are doubled because of Volt) + landline:
    • 250MB + Weekend calls - £20/m
    • 350MB + Weekend calls - £20/m
    • 500MB + Weekend call - £26/m
Told the agent I want to have a think about it and to call me tomorrow.
I don't need a tv package and am thinking the 350MB package for £20/m sounds good, as it's £1/m more than my current package (250MB (M125 doubled by Volt) + weekend calls; £19/m) but an extra 100MB speed. Only keeping the landline for emergency use, but its not used otherwise.
Would be good to hear if anyone has been offered anything similar or better

    • 250MB + Weekend calls - £20/m
    • 350MB + Weekend calls - £20/m

I was offered  and accepted £17 for Volt250 was also quoted £20.00 for Volt350 so prices are similar to what I was offered try and get the lowest price you can as next April/May they’ll increase the price and you won’t have the option to leave.

I'm on M250 broadband only (£28pm) and I cancelled on 19th of April. I couldn't do it online, the page had issues, so I was directed to WhatsApp. Due to price increases, I could cancel without fees before 21st of April.

I was told best deals come from retentions, so I should cancel and wait for their call-back. I went on WhatsApp to cancel and the agent there offered me £21pm until the end of my contract, which would be Nov, 23. I said no and put my cancellation through.

The next day I get a call from retentions, and best they could offer was £25 for a new 18 month contract. That was it, no other deals or options. I said no and that was the end of it.

Did anyone ever encounter this or is this something new? The WhatsApp offer was actually better than retentions, and retentions didn't really have any good deals.
11 days remaining until disconnection day. Retentions did not call back after the initial call (which was a worse offer than WhatsApp) and the return packaging for the equipment is also not here yet.

Is it safe to say retentions are not going to be calling back and it's time to move elsewhere? Or did anyone ever have second calls from retentions which could offer better deals?

    Thanks y'all

Retentions called twice the last which was 2 weeks ago but it got disconnected after 2 seconds of answering. Dont want to lose oyr phone number as we have had it for 25 years nearly.

It does look like virgin aren’t as interested in keeping certain customers i wonder why some get lots of calls via retentions and others get none or just 1 or 2

I’ve had one and that’s it thus far.

Btw what number came up when they phoned you ?

That's the risk of calling their bluff by cancelling. Hopefully you have an alternative lined up. You can usually keep your number when you leave Virgin, but get the transfer of number sorted before your account with Virgin is cancelled, so that you don't lose it.

Cancelling anything will be a risk i just find that it unusual that some people get lots of calls upto disconnection date while others don’t get any or maybe 1 or 2. It’s not the marketing options that are causing this as otherwise you wouldn’t get any calls i do wonder if customers are placed on no contact list or there’s a glitch where your number isn’t shared with retentions as regular as others.

It also  happened the last time i cancelled and that time i got no calls only an email which i accepted as i only wanted BB at that time.
