I'm due to be Volted next week hopefully, from VM 500mb-1GB via O2 handset+sim.
Is it possible to request hub.5 whilst avoiding new 18mth contract.
Only as I'm 1 year into fibre/tv/tel contract.
Currently find 500mb very stable including Pod.
Rather keep options open if maybe Stream becomes option for existing customers.
Just complain about the quality of the WiFi on your current hub and they may well send a new hub 5.

Edited as only used 1gb for short time last year.

In theory hub.4 should support 1gb as well as hub.5, it's the wifi 6 that's not avail from hub.4
My recent o2 mobile with sim entitles double data and double speed vm fibre.
Let's see what happens next week.

    thanks anyway.

I'm on M250 broadband only (£28pm) and I cancelled on 19th of April. I couldn't do it online, the page had issues, so I was directed to WhatsApp. Due to price increases, I could cancel without fees before 21st of April.

I was told best deals come from retentions, so I should cancel and wait for their call-back. I went on WhatsApp to cancel and the agent there offered me £21pm until the end of my contract, which would be Nov, 23. I said no and put my cancellation through.

The next day I get a call from retentions, and best they could offer was £25 for a new 18 month contract. That was it, no other deals or options. I said no and that was the end of it.

Did anyone ever encounter this or is this something new? The WhatsApp offer was actually better than retentions, and retentions didn't really have any good deals.

I got offered £17.00 for the same package (volt250) that was at the start of the month so the deals are there my boss cancelled virgin and had a call back from retentions today I was sat next to him during the conversation and they didn’t really offer anything and told him that their best deals are normally at the start of the month that would be correct considering I got my offer at the start of this month.

This is geographically a Manchester number. According to Google - this might be a scam number - says it might be operated by a third party called VoiceFlex. Best call VM from their website number if you need to contact them.

    I have

Talk anytime for £27. Price increase was going to £34. Phoned today and they could only reduce rise to £1.40 so £28.40 all in. I went ahead with cancellation.
Tried their best with the scaremongering but i stood firm.
Have left the landline open for porting but hopefully they call me back later sometime

Interesting. I was in the same boat and paying £27. I phoned up, didn't go for the automated discount and got through to the Cancellations Team. They asked why I was thinking of cancelling and I told them because of the price rise. They straight away offered to negate the increase to stop me leaving, so I guess it depends on who you speak to.

At the end of every contract period I have had to cancel in order to get a more sensible price from the Retentions Team, so if you have actually put your cancellation in, I would expect you'll be called back within a few days.

    Cheers.

Just looking at my account online and in the Offers section, I saw a deal (think it's specific to me) for M250 broadband and weekend phone calls (landline) for £18/m for 18 months. I currently pay £19/m for the same deal (was M125 with speed doubled because of Volt) and contract ends this month, and think the £18/m deal sounds alright.

Currently on whatsapp trying to contact their team to put in cancellation request, but wondered if anyone has been offered a similar or better deal through retentions?
    TIA

Having put my cancellation in yesterday, Virgin's 'loyalty' team called today and offered these packages for Broadband (doubled speeds by Volt) + landline:
    • 250MB + Weekend calls - £20/m
    • 350MB + Weekend calls - £20/m
    • 500MB + Weekend call - £26/m
Told the agent I want to have a think about it and to call me tomorrow.
I don't need a tv package and am thinking the 350MB package for £20/m sounds good, as it's £1/m more than my current package (250MB (M125 doubled by Volt) + weekend calls; £19/m) but an extra 100MB speed. Only keeping the landline for emergency use, but its not used otherwise.
Would be good to hear if anyone has been offered anything similar or better
