The box coming 5th December? That's unlucky, I phoned on Monday and ours came on Thursday.

Requested that date, gives me chance to watch all the programmes I've got on my V+ box.:)
By the way, I'm sure I was told that when Virgin release their V6 box, V+ boxes will become obsolete and unusable.

We got sent a new contract via email to sign. The problem is it is the previous deal that was set up last Monday and we still have not received a contract for the deal we agreed last Wednesday. I have mentioned the issue in the Facebook discussion I had last week with one of their staff but have not had a response yet. It has only been a couple of hours though. We do have the email detailing the correct offer. What should we do if they don't reply on Facebook? I don't want to sign that contract that is incorrect.

I have only received one email contract to sign but it was for the contract that was set up and then immediately cancelled. when I queried this I was told that I wouldn't get a contract for an upgrade, despite the fact I got one last year. I decided to let it go as the offer I got was too good to make a fuss over the contract provided the price offered was correct - which I got a second person to confirm which still in my 14 day cancellation window. First bill seems to confirm that the price offered is what I'm being charged.

Edit: if you have an email with the offer then I wouldn't worry about not getting a contract.

EDIT: just had a quick look and they are currently offering
    • Player TV
    • SuperFibre 50 Broadband
    • Talk Weekends
    • includes TIVO
For £29 including line rental which is a lot better than I've seen before. I think the any time calls is about £8-10 extra per month

I called them just now and they would not go down, best deal was £43 a month (same as above) but that includes anytime calls.

I called after 10 mins from my original call and went for £38 a month includes line rental, unlimited calls, caller display, 50MB broadband but no TV. The Virgin TV is to sluggish so go rid of it for Sky.

Managed to get Sky for £30 for the year after cashback :)
£25 Gift from Sky, £105 Quidco. Paying £13.40 a month - only wanted Fox for The Walking Dead :)

Just got off the phone after speaking to a very nice young lady at Virgin (makes such a difference when the staff you speak to are nice and approachable).
Anyway I've decided to stay with 'em. I did say initially I wanted to leave and quoted this deal with TalkTalk....
    https://www.talktalk.co.uk/shop/
However, after discussing my account, I was offered an 18 month contract (6 months at approx £21, 12 months at £26) if I renewed my RLS (£196)
    For this I'll get -
    70mbs
    Free weekend calls
    M+ TV (or the equivalent)
    TIVO box
The box is being delivered 5th December and I'll install it myself (if they do it, it'll cost me £40)
Even with this deal I don't think It'll be cheaper than TalkTalk, but I've been with Virgin for a long time and have, by and large, found their service very good, so am feeling reasonably happy and sanguine with the choice I've made.
Thank you everybody for input and advice.
I have 100mb evening and weekend calls m+ tv tivo box caller id and free line rental £27-46p

Have you told them to cancel your services? I have only once had a decent deal without doing that - every other year I have to start the cancellation process to get a decent offer. Most people have the same experience so its worth trying. Even if you dont want the TV you might get a better deal by taking it even if you dont use it.

No, I just went with the deal as the other deals with Talk Talk and BT were coming around the same price, and didn't want to lose Virgin. Might try that next year now as already paid the line rental upfront, that made a small saving.

Yeah, I did get an email with the offer. I had a webchat today and they said it got sent via the regular post. It has been a few days so they have sent another out. Also they said they can count the webchat as an agreement. I made sure I saved the chat this time. I won't know if they are charging the correct amount until early January as decembers bill is on the old price.

Looks like after cancelling just the TV I got a call, they offered me the following:

    TV - Full House XL
    Broadband - 200MB
    Phone - Talk Anytime
    Caller Display

For a total cost of £24. Line Rental of £196 has been paid upfront. It was a difference of £3 from the previous cost so went for it. Never expected a call.

Also swapping my SuberHub 2ac for Suberhub 3.0 for Free. Hope this helps someone.

Now the only none money saving thing i've done is having Sky and Virgin together :( As I get Fox with my new Virgin package and this is why I got Sky :(
