VoucherMan said:I was offered £17.50 for m50 broadband. (I know, could have got better. But it's more than enough for me, and cheaper than the alternative (£19 at Vodafone))The new contract came through today - £15 for 18 months.
I don't know if it's just coincidence, but the £2.50 difference is the discount I was offered on the recorded message section.

"IM said:Well....Just had a call from a very nice man from Virgin Media."
everyone who keeps saying they spoke to "... a very nice man", keeps making me think of the old AA advert

I told them I wanted to cancel last Friday, received the cancellation email and everything. So far no call from retentions so looks like I will be finally leaving. It took me well over 50 minutes to get through and the person I spoke to sounded like she was from an overseas call centre, really struggled to understand what she was saying and the line was terrible. Her offer was higher than what I am currently paying including the price hike.

I had exactly the same experience as gowzerneo today. Took 58 min to get through, was then offered a package of £28 for 100mb and weekend calls (notice they have dropped the evening and weekend call option), I currently pay £23 so requested to cancel with 30 days notice as ideally don't want to increase my bill.
What is the best price anyone has got my package for and how long roughly before cut off do you get a phone call?Jan Grocery challenge

He reduced my M50 £23 to £18 for 18month contract, wasnt difficult. Took half an hour from start to finish. E mail confirmation within about an hour. Voucher man has made me feel like I have been ripped off.I never got as far as a retentions call back either. The offer I accepted was unusually generous though. It was about my 5th attempt, as on all the previous calls they'd been having 'computer issues', and when I declined the offer they made, they were unable to cancel my contract, advising me to call back the day after. On this occasion, after being on hold for almost an hour, I got through to an Indian call centre, and he came straight out with the offer I accepted.Whether or not their system listed my previous attempts, and influenced the offer I got, I neither know or care.

Slightly relieved other people have had the brick wall from Virgin. I was offered £48 a month for M50 broadband and landline. And wouldn't budge a penny. I have cancelled and I have no intention of going back, no matter how low a price they offer.0

Agree with JamesN, you shouldn't be paying over £20 for M100, cancel if you still can and wait for a better offer , it WILL come!
Is this really an achievable price? The new offer for customers of M100 is £26.99 isn't it? You think they'll give it for less?
I'm on day 2 of trying to get through via the automated system. Fri I lost more than 2hrs over 4 calls that all got cancelled on their end, normally after about 30-45mins0 -
