Well painting is coming along nicely. Yesterday was a NSD so that makes 5 so far for August.

I've cancelled my gym subscription as a gym closer to us has had a big refurb, my and DP have joined, it's free for the first month then £12.50 for the next 3 months rising to £19.50 after that. I've been paying £28 a month and although I love my current gym it's 8 miles away and a pain to get to through rush hour traffic.

The new gym has plenty of classes which is what I like so we'll see what it's like.

Off to Zumba this morning then more painting later. Need to buy DP a cake as it's his birthday tomorrow

Spent £13 in Morrisons yesterday only bought a birthday cake, some fruit and celery so a spend day.

My car has been playing up over the last few weeks, it starts fine but then struggles to get going when you pull off. I decided to take it over to a local garage so that they could look at it, the mechanic took a quick look and suggested he keep it and then start it up from cold as that's when it's worse.

He's rung me this morning and agrees it's terrible first thing but unfortunately he doesnt know why. He's taking it to another garage who look at electrical faults but they wont beable to look at it until Monday so I'm without a car until then.

Hopefully it's not going to be silly money. I hate garages and especially ones that rip you off.

On a plus note it's DP's birthday and we're off out for tea - I've sneaked the birthday cake to where we're eating so that should be a nice surprise!!

Had a really lovely day yesterday for DP birthday. Big walk in the morning and then we nipped out to Morrisons and he bought a few bits, wine, cider, chicken - all for the weekend. He helps me out loads like that.

DP gives me rent and doesn't contribute to any bills. At 48 and after being burned with a previous partner where money is concerned my house is going to remain my own. It may sound callous but my DP has everything to win and I have everything go lose if we go halves on the bills or get married and then even split or divorce. It's fine with us both after much discussion.

We went out for a meal with our 2 kids (my eldest is with his dad) and had an enjoyable evening. Walked there and back and it was really sunny.

Today is cleaning and shopping ( using DP car )

Spent £39 in Aldi. Did a quick meal plan before I went - pleased with that as I usually spend £60.

£8 cashed in on surveys - will pay off my cc which has slowly crept up!

Been to the new gym this morning, me and DP did a little 30 minute workout which was good. I've booked into Zumba tomorrow morning to see what it's like. My usual Zumba instructor is brilliant and I try and go to loads of her classes so this lady has a lot to live up to.

DP has made cottage pie for tea but we ran out of potatoes so I had to go and buy some from our Co-op, 99p which has annoyed me as today would've been a NSD otherwise.

Not got anything planned for the rest of the day. Washing and ironing is done so I'm relaxing

Scott - I'm pleased with the saving too. I'm off to a Zumba class there this morning so shall see what it's like.

Missy - I've been here since June last year and am enjoying watching my debt go down.....and sometimes up :rotfl: don't enjoy that but at least I'm more in control now.

Zumba was really good, quite a popular class for a Sunday it was really busy.

We've had chicken wraps for lunch - DP bought 2 small chickens from a butchers shop last week so we've cooked both and will use for sandwiches and a pasta bake over the next couple of days. DPs delicious (& massive) cottage pie was only eaten by me and DP - silly teenegaers preferring to buy chips/pizza with their own money when there is perfectly good food in the house.

So we have a mountain of cottage pie and chicken to get through over the next week.

Tomorrow I need to get my eldest sons room emptied and carpet up, then I need to gloss the skirting boards ready for the carpet to be fitted on Thursday. I've paid for this on my CC but have savings to cover it, I just need to draw out £70 in cash to pay the carpet fitter.

I'm also hoping to find out about my car tomorrow- I have a bit of savings to pay for it but if it's a lot I shall have to use my CC.

I never seem to be able to get my savings up before something happens.
