NSD 2! Really determined to keep spending to a minimum until we go on holiday on the 25th.
Spin class was good, didn't go mad but still worked. I've been to Zumba today which was a bit more strenuous on my tummy so did feel it when I got home. But all good.
Miserable and quite chilly here today, wish the weather would hurry up and improve. Spicy mince and rice for tea tonight - that should warm us up! :T0 -
I think I said it before, just watch you don't over do it!
What are you aiming for this month? Can you beat last months record?0 -
We booked 2 nights in Weston-Super-mare last night to break our journey up when we go down to Cornwall at the end of August. We plan to spend a day in Weston, then a day at the Cheddar gorge then we can head to Cornwall on the Saturday morning. It will cut our journey down quite a bit from the West Midlands.
So that's another spend but will be good. Feeling really poor this month, maybe because I'm being really careful,of what I'm buying.
Speky I don't know how many NSD to aim for this month.0 -
Ohhhh lovely, very nice indeed.
When you say you're feeling poor, do you mean financially? You do have a lot going on to be fair so managing your money correct and budgeting for certain things in the future may make you feel tight for the foreseeable.0 -
Speky I definitely strtetched my self with the kitchen bits i bought which made me go overdrawn - so then you're clawing it back arent you - I hate being overdrawn which is why I never let myself get back into that spiral.
The company who were making my blinds have just reimbursed me my money as the fabric i wanted is no longer being made by the manufacturer - I'm really annoyed about this as I've been waiting a month and I'd fallen through the net - they only realised when I emailed them yesterday to chase up my order.
The money is yet to appear in my account as I used Paypal linked to my debit card so it's floating around somewhere?? I'm now trying to find another suitable fabric and wondering if the £32 Topcashback that is pending will not go through :mad:
Been to Aldi and spent £54 and £3 in Tesco so just under my £60 food budget. I only have £100 left in my food budget for 2 weeks so I shall have to be inventive with my meals or borrow from another pot!0 -
Feeling slightly under the weather today after a boozy BBQ at my aunt and uncles. Didn't drink loads but I can't drink like I used to and sleep terribly too. But it was a great night as I catch up with loads of family, particularly my 2 cousins who are like sisters to me.
We had left the car over there so had to walk to go and fetch it, which did clear some of the cobwebs away.
DP made a cottage pie when we got back - he's a fab cook, makes everything from scratch and it always tastes yum.
I did a bit of cleaning and have then spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing!
4NSD so far and hoping for lots more!0 -
Hope you're feeling a bit better today!
One thing which I like to do which is very MSE and also helps with the NSD's is to make soup and freeze portions. It's a cheap and healthy meal to make and always comes in handy in the days leading up to payday when money's tight.0 -
Speky we always over cater especially at weekends. We always make food for both of my boys and they end up eating out or getting take away pizza (total waste of money to me when there's pizza in the freezer, but hey ho it's their money) so we end up either putting it in the freezer or eating it on Mon/Tues.
Soup doesn't last long enough to freeze here, we always eat it two days on the run.0 -
Well yesterday I ended up ordering carpet and vinyl for my eldest sons bedroom.
He's living with his dad at the moment (& probably for the long term too) as his apprenticeship is a 15 minute walk from his dad's house, otherwise it would be 2 buses from here, so it makes sense. Once he passes his driving test (he has his theory this afternoon- eek) he may move back, but I doubt it as the drive will be a good 30 minutes drive in rush hour traffic.
Anyway he basically spends one night a week here so his room remains empty. My youngest sons bedroom is above ours ( his was decorated and new carpet last summer) and he keeps us awake particularly during the summer holidays when he doesn't go to sleep until midnight....or later.
So after discussion over the weekend the boys have agreed to swap rooms but only if I get the room sorted. It is pretty dire, it's definitely needs new carpet and he has an ensuite so the carpet needs replacing with vinyl too.
So yesterday we measured up and ended up ordering carpet and vinyl. Yesterday afternoon was spend moving stuff and ripping up carpet and started painting.
So my savings have gone down again - so much for building them up! Ahh well, it needs doing and will be better when my son moves to the front of the house!0 -
It's all planned spend. I think the danger comes when it's spontaneous.0
