4 NSD in July so far. Hoping for more, I did 12 in June so 14 would be good. I really don't need anything now and bits I do need can wait.

The floor is finished and it looks really good, it's like Karndean but not as expensive, it looks like planks of oak but is actually posh Lino and it really finishes the kitchen off.

It's so funny because we put everything away in there, DP was sweeping up after tea, even the kids are keeping it tidy - pity they don't do the same in their rooms.

After lunch we went for a 5km walk along the canal and when we got back DP watched the Tour de France then the cricket whilst I made a curry - so easy now to reach everything, music on and I was away. DP is making roast beef tomorrow!!!

Rounded the evening off catching up on some TV!

5 NSD today! Bit of a boring day really. Did a bit of cleaning and sorted some bits out in the garage.

Five weeks post op and I'm definitely bored now. I have 7 days left until my sick note runs out, then I'm going back to work for the last 3 days of term. It will give me time to do some preparation for September and spend some time with my new class.

We've booked a week in Cornwall at the end of August, just me and DP. My boys are going away with their dad so we decided to book a cheap b & b near St Austell. I've not been to Cornwall for years so it should be good. We shall take our walking stuff and if the weather isn't great we have that option. Be nice to lie on the beach too but this is the UK so I'm under no illusions.

It's 14 days to payday and I want it to be here now! I'm eager to start paying off my kitchen and start using my new debit card system. I've stretched myself a bit much this month which I'm annoyed about.

I've dipped into my overdraft slightly, but I have a refund coming in from my old energy company, I switched providers and they owe me a bit so that should help out. I could use a bit of my savings for my overdraft but the first £250 is free so it's not worth it. I'm also owed £113 from TopCashback which is waiting to be confirmed.

I know we shouldn't wish our lives away.

No we definitely shouldn't wish our lives away but I'm exactly the same when waiting for payday and wanting to make indents to the debt!

The trip to Cornwall sounds lovely and is probably just what you need :D

Great stuff regarding earnings from TCB and the refund from old energy supplier.

I've decided that being money saving is only achieved by going that extra mile and being totally on the ball.

My kitchen is finished and looking wonderful. There were 2 items unused left in the garage, both still in packaging and with a barcode. One was an oak upstand and another was a kickboard. I've taken them back to Wickes this afternoon and got a £56 refund!!! For 2 pieces of wood! I could have let them just rot in the corner of my garage but I took 20 minutes out of my day to return them. So pleased with that refund!

I also read on a Weight Watchers FB forum that if you joined between certain dates and lost 10lb in 8 weeks ( both of which I did) they will refund you 2 months back = £24. So I've filled the form out and duly emailed it on! WW may reject my claim (they do apparently) but it's worth a shot.

So potentiallly £78 back in my account for just a tiny bit of effort.

I've also gone back onto Prolific Acaademic and made £26 there in 2 days!

    Go me :j:j:j

    9 NSD & 12 days to payday

Have dipped into my overdraft - not by much. Don't like doing it really but needs must sometimes.

I've been into school this afternoon for a meeting, made me realise how I need to use my brain. I certainly aren't ready to retire quite yet and although my job can be very stressful and demanding I love it dearly!

9 NSD & 10 days to pay day.

Nipped out this morning to get some more wrapping paper for my class' presents, also bought some thank you cards for my TA and other people who have supported me over the year. I bought Prosecco from Aldi yesterday (cheapest place at £5.52) for gifts and bought another gift for my teaching assistant from Amazon last week, it was only £8.45 with free postage.

It's one of those tea pots and cups together in a really pretty floral pattern. - she loves tea! I'm also going to gather a few other bits e.g scones, jam, cream to make into a cream tea gift!

Spent £52 in Aldi but £13 of that was on alcohol for gifts so only £39 really! We're using stuff out of the freezer and cupboard this week to eek out the food budget.

Rainy and miserable here so think it will be a TV catch-up day.

I often think that teaching is the best job in the world but does take every ounce of energy (and then some on occasions).
Hope the 3 days this week go well.
