Louby looking at those figures you've done fantastic! If you've managed to do that in a year, I'm sure that you'll have made further indentations to the kitchen debt by next year. At least it's all on 0% and for something that's needed rather then a big amount of unnecessary spends.
Could you perhaps save up another small buffer over the next few months before tackling the debt full force?

I'm feeling well thanks. I'm just over 3 weeks post op and having to keep reminding myself that I've had major surgery. Apart from feeling a bit tired I feel more or less back to normal.
My sicknote runs out with 3 days left of term and I shall probably go back for those 3 days. It will mean I can meet with my class, liase with their class teacher, prepare for next year ( I have to swap classrooms) and just generally remind myself about teaching lol.
Our headteacher is also retiring so there are things I'd like to take part in regarding that.
Sadly my school had a visit from Ofsted yesterday that's now turned into a 2 day inspection- I feel very guilty that I aren't there. But there is little I can do. I'm feeling a mixture of relief and guilt! Ofsted is horrible. I'm just hoping they've pulled it out of the bag today!0 -
Ofsted didn't go well. It's a horrible process especially when the inspector arrives with an agenda - but hey ho! We will rise up.
Kitchen refurb is on the homeward stretch. All units are in (except one I've had to order at £149, not budgeted for ) worktops are on and hopefully a working sink by later on this afternoon. We've even had new sockets with USB charging points. :j
Still to be done are:
* cupboard doors fitted
* oven, hob and extractor to be put in
* splash back, upstands, cornice and kickboards fitted - should be totally up and running by next Tuesday!
Then.....we wait for the flooring guys!
I still need a new table and chairs - I've seen one I like in Next but it's £800 so I need to wait and see if I can save for that! We have an old table to tide us over, it's the one we drag out on Christmas Day :rotfl:
So excited and also looking forward to getting my house back in order and not having workmen coming and going!0 -
:cool:;)Well after posting yesterday and going downstairs after the kitchen fitter had gone home at 5.30pm I now have...
A working sink
A cupboard doors on
Splash back on
Upstands on
So Monday the electrician will also be here to sort our the hob, oven, extractor and dishwasher. Kitchen fitter needs to add the doors to those appliances and do a final adjustment so there are no gaps.
I've been looking at paint and blinds - more money! I've already spent a bit on little extras, need to reign it in a bit and be patient!0 -
12 NSD days in June, going to try and beat that in July!
I've opened a new current account and am going to send a set amount over to it every month and keep my day to day spending from that card. So direct debits and standing orders will come out of my first current account and second current account is for food, fuel, cash and other debit card purchases. I've set it to £700 so will see how it goes.0 -
Oh no to the nasty O Louby, the thought of them should not put the fear of god into people, its just not right is it!! Will HMI be involved now?
Sounds youve got a good plan there xxMummytogirls x0 -
Your poor head...to have OFSTED so close to retiring. Sorry to read that it didn't go well. Get as much rest as you can. Can you have help to move essential things over to your new classroom?
