Don't know about HMI. It's not quite that bad. But in 18 months to 2 years we will have another visit from Ofsted!

    Morning Louby,

Good idea with the split in accounts. I used to do that before I used YNAB and it worked well. Gave me peace of mind to know that the important things were covered and what I then had left for all other spends.

    Hope you're loving the kitchen!

Woke up at 4am thinking about my kitchen. It was finished yesterday, bar the floor which is being fitted at the end of the week.

It is fabulous - I love it so much. I paid the builder and electrician before they left yesterday and the electrician knocked me £200 off for cash! I was so chuffed. I know I should probably pay it off the debt but I'm going to put it towards new kitchen blinds. I was going to wait until September to buy them but now I can order them earlier.

That's always been one of my problems that has seen me get into debt, I have no patience and want things NOW, today! I think I've learnt to curb that since my LBM and will mull it over more, try and find a cheaper price for something and very often just wait. I'm definitely more patient.

I did a bit too much lifting, moving and sorting yesterday - my operation was only 4 weeks ago and they do warn you about doing too much too soon. My DP went to see Radiohead in Manchester yesterday so he wasn't about to help. No doubt he will come home later and get stuck in - still a few bits and pieces to sort out.

Need to think what to have for tea tonight!

I had a new kitchen last year and am still totally besotted with it :)

It's so nice to have something tangible to show for the many £0000's I've racked up over the years and to be honest, now that the house is less of a !!!!!! pit it makes it easier to budget - it's nice to cook at home, I'm happy to have people over rather than go out and you've got the space and storage to be able to put things away rather than have to confine bits to the garage where I invariably forget them and buy new again. Now if only I could kick my kitchenaid obsession I'd be quids in :rotfl:

Lucy you're totally right, I was so embarrassed about my kitchen, never had people round - but now I can!

I can't wait for the floor to go down!

Chandelier they are ordered! 5% discount off the company and 9.45% off via TopCashback - I've saved over £30!

    It takes them under £200!

I have £82 waiting to clear in TCB and £116 to be refunded from First Utility from switching energy providers. So I could have afforded them anyway! I love making my money work.,

I'm now officially skint. All my money for my kitchen is spent! Floor will be completed tomorrow - I've also bought a new clock, microwave, kettle, toaster, tea & coffee caddies, mats for the door, new saucepans, baking trays, oven gloves and washing up bowl and blinds are on order!

That's it - money gone! So pleased with it. Just need to save up for a table and chairs now!

And start paying for the kitchen....
