Good afternoon mad squad, a few questions for all the cruisers and general travel experts out there if I may please.

I have been keeping an eye on a certain cruise, the price has went down a bit then recently up again, with approximately 8 weeks to go does anyone know if it is likely to drop again?

Whats the cheapest way to buy two return train tickets from Scotland to Southampton for two adults over 40 ?

What's the best way to find cheap accomodation for 1 night in Southampton ?

    Please / thanks:D
I do try to keep up but sometimes life gets in the way.

    so many questions :D

the bad side of booking last minute is the hotel the night before being dearer but it can't be helped.
check airbandb, premier inn - there are 2 in Southampton and Travelodge - go for the new one in town. There is no easy solution to this just keep looking at the websites
Also being further out of Southampton is not really a solution Eastleigh hotels are as dear.
Have you checked to see if flying into Southampton airport is any cheaper?
there is a train that starts from Newcastle and goes all the way to Southampton Central and you can get a train from Edinburgh into Newcastle

it all adds to the cost though - you might be better looking for cruises that go out of Leigh or Greenock or even Newcastle - actually South Sheilds - Fred Olsen and Cruise Maritime I think

Or even Liverpool is a good port if you live in Scotland - again Fred Olsen go out of Liverpool as do Cruise Maritime and several others

you can get the train out of Glasgow or Edinburgh to CREWE - yards from CREWE station is a holiday inn express and a premier inn so its a good place to break your journey and then next morning get the CREWE to Liverpool train
might be cheaper than a Liverpool hotel overnight

the final invoices go out 8 weeks before departure and at this point a few people cancel - illness or work commitments or family issues so it's then that a cruise company has extra cabins and they either upgrade some people or just start discounting the price - not many people can travel at such short notice
the last few cabins left then tend to rise in price until all cabins are sold out

have a look at cruise.co uk - good company to email and ask about prices

just read this back and this had not helped much ...

Enterprise, did you ever get loo roll?! Just seen there's Andrex deals on Groupon and I thought of you :D :rotfl:

Will go and have a look, the ones I was looking at had a hideous postage charge know them.

    I should have said:-

I have set my mind on a particular P and O cruise - I want that one :D Flying is not an option.

Just wondered the best way to get train tickets - I've got an NUS card but don't think it helps and wondered if there was another way to make the train cheaper other than the split ticket thing?

Did a beer shop with some rice today . GOLD HOBGOBLIN WORKED AS A HIDDEN TRIGGER ON THE 4FOR. £5
£15.13 spend resulted in £7.47 APG

Not at home tonight so can't post results as don't know how to do it on my hudl
    Could someone please do it
    Receipt no. 2741 4374 4516. 5014. 2135

DO NOT WANT TO START AN ARGUMENT OVER RIGHTS & WRONGS

Thanks to the "person" who claimed my APG:mad:
I naively posted my receipt number to share the results to give something back and help others. I went to print my APG's today before i go shopping and it says
You've already claimed this voucher against a different ASDA.com account. If you'd like to print your voucher again, please log in using the same ASDA.com account you claimed the voucher against previously.

note to self and a reminder to others remember this is a public forum and read by lots of people. I was thinking no one could claim it as I had the receipt but forgetting there is always someone who can work the system :(
