If only it were that simple. For "study" read dumping ground of anything from circuit boards to components to boxes, and extremely cluttered! I also have my freezer in there. It could not have picked a worse room to disappear into! I think I would rather have a mouse in there than an excited cat :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I have a room like that :o

Need some help from someone techie please. I just read on news that last VCR player is being made end of month in Japan, not sure if that means that is it for rest of the world too?

I still have what I think is a working one but more importantly I have loads of video tapes of the girls when they trampolined that people did for me. I wasn't flush enough to own my own camcorder so had to rely on the generosity of others filming them and putting on to a tape for me.

I am digressing, the question is what do I need to buy to transfer them onto my computer. I am guessing a special lead of some sorts. I think maybe I should do this sooner rather than later. Would be a shame to never be able to access them again.

Is there even somewhere I could take them and pay to get them put on a CD or would that be too expensive?

    Appreciate any replies thanks :)

Thanks both, just looked on boots and they charge £19.99 for a 60 minute video and more for 90 min and more for 180 min. Not sure how I will get on as I have about 20 videos, most only have about 5 to 10 mins at the beginning. A trampolining routine is possibly no longer than 30 seconds. Not sure whether they would charge per video whatever size or by how much has been recorded/transferred.

Off to look at video rental shops.

Good morning on catch up here so might of been answered, I transferred my own videos to DVDs, I had at the time a humax recordable , for recording from the tv, and a vhs player, it was so easy even I managed it, if you have both machines or know someone who does it only requires a lead ,I copied all the kids parties and Christmas tapes and even our wedding as I thought it might degrade with age.:)

Good morning all, cloudy one here but seems fine at the moment.

Have you got a hard disc player? We bought one to deal with this, plugged the output of the video into it and transferred our important videos onto the hard disc, then you can download them onto anything from there.

Admittedly we struggled to transfer them onto DVD (it is a DVD recorder too) but that was because it was new tech at the time and not very well tested. It is an ancient unit from Lidl or Aldi, cant recall which.
You know when there is someone ,that you just know is you in another life, sorry enterprise :rotfl:
