It's cooler and it looks like it might rain.....BBQ planned for tonight so I suppose it's inevitable. Just about to plunge into the depths of the freezer for meat that can be chucked on the barbie:D

Need some help from someone techie please. I just read on news that last VCR player is being made end of month in Japan, not sure if that means that is it for rest of the world too?

I still have what I think is a working one but more importantly I have loads of video tapes of the girls when they trampolined that people did for me. I wasn't flush enough to own my own camcorder so had to rely on the generosity of others filming them and putting on to a tape for me.

I am digressing, the question is what do I need to buy to transfer them onto my computer. I am guessing a special lead of some sorts. I think maybe I should do this sooner rather than later. Would be a shame to never be able to access them again.

Is there even somewhere I could take them and pay to get them put on a CD or would that be too expensive?

    Appreciate any replies thanks :)
We had our wedding video converted to DVD in T a couple of years ago, in the bit where you can print photos. It had to be sent away and took about a week. Sorry, I can't remember what it cost, but it won't have been very expensive or we wouldn't have done it :money:

Have you got a hard disc player? We bought one to deal with this, plugged the output of the video into it and transferred our important videos onto the hard disc, then you can download them onto anything from there.

Admittedly we struggled to transfer them onto DVD (it is a DVD recorder too) but that was because it was new tech at the time and not very well tested. It is an ancient unit from Lidl or Aldi, cant recall which.

Just thinking how much draw space I would gain if I got all the VHS transferred. More room for stashes  :rotfl:

    Morning all :)

Much greyer looking here today but still very close and sticky. We had a few drops of rain last night but need a proper downpour to cool things down. Water off again :(
