accents are a very peculiar thing.

With Irish parents we should have had broad accents but we just had standard English.
We lived an hour north of Birmingham - now if we go into shops in town etc everyone talks with a Birmingham accent - I've no idea how and when that happened, how the accent drifted north.

Eldest child was talking York within months of going up to uni and still reverts back to York as soon as she crosses the border :rotfl:

    How do you talk York?

Its a sort of more upmarket broad Yorkshire - with the a sound flattened.

Its not Leeds though - Leeds is very grating - if you watch Googlebox there are 2 sisters with very broad Leeds :D

Oh not just Irish as it is standard in North East at least. Mam always went for the messages too. But I've never used 'eejit' think that is Irish ;)

Most common one for me was saying 'I will pick YOUS up' instead of pick you up. This was more that one, so not you but the plural yous, or actually said as yus. And I will never ever say anything else than me Mam, never my Mam. And never use Mum or mother either. Always Mam and Dad or most commonly Ma and Da

Oh well, rest over, back to work moving bits of furniture from bedroom to hall - just little things like shelving, cabinet

Make sure you register with your correct birthday (the one closest to your visit date :D) so you get the email with free birthday shake too. :D:D

Do you need to show ID?

I've put OH's birthday for him, and one a week before for me with the idea that we can take his 2 great nieces there rather cheaply x

No ID necessary. You may need to get them to split the bills to use all vouchers. They are usually quite accommodating if you ask nicely. :)

PS SSM - Also Ed's in Nottm and Meadowhall.

It has indeed and the rain has returned :( The snow does look nice on the mountains though.

The snow is lovely on the mountains.

We have driven through some really thick snow today on the way home.

Went for a lovely walk in Beddgelert Forest this morning, thick snow all round, Harley loved it.
