    Good afternoon all

I also tend to say filem - its very Irish

Mothers family also went out for messages which sounds mad but "going for messages" was going to do the shopping.

And one I use a lot is eejit - an eejit is far far worse than a run of the mill idiot :rotfl:

    So far this weekend ...

Eldest child organised a wine tasting with food pairing at their local wine shop last night - its BFs 30th this week  Their friends came down from York for the weekend so they all trotted off to the pub for an innocent pint - where eldest child had organised for all of their local friends (gym, netball, football and jogging) to met up. Then they went across the road to the wine shop - BF not quite realising it was not just the normal wine shop tastings but a full blown wine and food evening for all 8 of them :rotfl: - so he was doubly surprised.

Then having organised this she set about organising her dads birthday surprise at the start of the week.
OH went down to Euston this afternoon - he managed to get upgraded so he had a very nice wrap and coffee in 1st class. Then he met eldest child and off they went to book into the hotel. Originally eldest child was booking Travelodge as she gets a 5% works discount but then later on Monday night she though she might as well try the Accor Happy Mondays link I put up on FB - so she got an Ibis for £40 a night, £12 cheaper than TL :)
They booked into the hotel and were given some drink vouchers - eldest child had put in the info box that it was her dads big birthday :T So the last I heard from them they were in the bar armed with large glasses of wine, peanuts and a bowl of m & Ms :j

I think that's as far as they have got - they were supposed to be doing a museum this afternoon and then going onto dinner but it might just be McDonalds now having been eating and drinking all afternoon :rotfl:

Later is the big surprise - eldest child is taking her dad to Hammersmith Apollo to see Elbow :j

Did the check my pound coin thing and found 3 that were supposedly worth more than £1. Looked on ebay and put some that are the same as mine on watch and they are not even selling for £1.
Might as well spend them :rotfl:

So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.

and this morning I got a message from youngest errant son to say he is sending me a letter with a big thank you for his birthday gifts - yes its very peculiar.
I wonder if he has had a conversation with either of his brother or sister and they prompted him - both have asked me recently when I last heard anything from him and it was mid February.
    - mostly he ignores any messages I send him or replies weeks later.
He had a long conversation on the phone with his dad yesterday, again another one off event, not spoken to him since New year.
Also he said in the message this morning he was sending a birthday card, assume its for his dad. Errant son has ignored everyone's birthday, Fathers day, Mothers day and everything else for years ...

They were going today to the animal sanctuary - I sent him a Groupon before Christmas for entry to this animal sanctuary close to where he lived, so he has only just got around to using it.

And he tagged me into photos

OH well I suppose its all contact of one sort or another ...
