We had a mouse in the house last week . living in a bungalow airing cupboard is near front door and a mouse had took up residence there had to rewash everything, what's worse is I always leave door open during day and oh saw it go out the cupboard and go outside and a few mins later it came back in.:o seems it was my fault :rotfl:
We have/had rats in the cavity of the house, and between the floor joists of the loft.....they are coming in from the neighbours house. They had some really rubbish building work done. The employed a private company who wanted to do something for £600.. and then got the local authority involved but they charged £60 a visit to put poisoning out.
So far OH has sorted their guttering/down pips and their flashing, and put poison under the floor boards in the loft.... fingers crossed that this works as it is not nice being woke up at 3 am with rats above your head, but we have got used to rolling over and going back to bed! We do joke that we are going to bill the neighbours for the extermination work!...:D:D:D100 -

OMg that is awful - so you had multiple tasks - as well as rat catching you had sealing facia board, removing ivy, dealing with the neighbour and his dog food store and messy garden ...
When we had snow one year we had rats leaving prints on the lawn leading back to next door, the new neighbour still had previous neighbours chicken feed in the shed - she was horrified to realise our rat was living in her shed so she got the professionals in
Another year we seemed to have a garden full and their speciality was climbing up and helping themselves to the bird feeders ....
Our village has had numerous housing estates built - I wonder if all of these newcomers realise how lovely it is living in the country :rotfl:
It was a nightmare. The loft was full of 40 years of memories and useful stuff, all had to be skipped. Heart breaking some stuff belonged to my late hubby and soul mate god love him. Makes me sad thinking about it. On a positive note our children sorted all their stuff out also.We have new folks next door lovely young couple, ivy is gone and garden tidy.:) All good.0 -
zippydooda wrote: »i make cars, dont believe it. eg my fuel light comes on with about 27 miles left. 5 miles later and it could read 17 miles left. also when it gets to the final, say 6 miles left. it will do 2 miles for every mile.
this inaccuracy is because most fuel tanks are now flat as opposed to being upright.
with all that in mind i have dove 6 miles on zero. i went to tesco at 6.05 am and kiosk was closed when it was supposed to be manned. so drove to work and back to tesco on 0.
I can drive miles on an empty tank....:D:D:D:D

you can usually find how accurate it is by waiting till it goes to zero, then filling the car up and comparing how much you have put in, with the size of the tank fitted to the car. There is usually a canny amount of petrol left. I have no qualms going 20 miles on zero if I need to.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
