    Denise what is SPCA?

I was trying to decide why you would be taking your DS to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals them I realised you were IN NZ so it was probably something completely different!

  • Argh DIY and flying are not that compatable. The plasterer is here to do the lounge and so everything has been taken out of there. The ex managed to get gunk from the radiator all over one of the sofa covers when he took it off the wall, but thankfully he did pop them in the washing machine. They are also planning on putting in the doorframe to the kitchen today, so it's going to be chaos here.

I'm going to tidy upstairs today, atleast I can do that bit and keep out of everyones way. Oh and play with ratties, another one gave birth yesterday, so there's now another 8 babies.

Long long list of things to do
Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    [strike]Clean floors,[/strike]
    Level Two
    [strike]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)[/strike]
    Level Three
[strike]Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Clean the INSIDE of the microwave... don’t forget the ceiling!!!
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances[/strike]
15 minute fling and tidy in that junk drawer in the kitchen.. get rid of all that stuff you put in there for ‘later’ .. mind those prehistoric mousetraps!! ;)
    Extra Mission
    Choose one or more of:
    • [strike]Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms[/strike]
    • Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1
    [strike]Vacuum floors[/strike] and sofas

Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets[/strike]
    Level 3

Clean any other glass like mirrors, pictures etc
[strike]Tidy shoes, coats and bags .. wash any that need washing in preparation for cold weather!! [/strike]
    Extra Mission
Pick one or more of the following tasks
    • Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it
    • Clean the fluff from the fire.. not while it is on!! Don’t forget to arrange for it to be serviced before winter sets in if you have a gas fire!! Or chimneys swept for real fires! Central heating boilers etc need servicing too!

    Level 1
    Check fire alarms are working
Remove bed linen and replace with fresh linen
    Level 2
[strike]Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs.. make sure to do the bed base.. mine was gross last week![/strike]
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen
    [strike]15 minutes floordrobe clearance [/strike]
    Level 3
[strike]Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing[/strike]
Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed
Defluff and demuck woodwork... skirtings, window frames, door frames dados, picture rails etc
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
    • [strike]27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go grab a bag and clear that clutter[/strike]
    • Sort and put away those summer clothes from someones cupboard and get out the winter woollies.. don’t store anything that is past its best! Make a list of things you need to buy!! e.g new socks/sweaters
    • Clean windows in these rooms
    • Clear any one hotspot
    Thursday Bathroom and Study/Pc Area

    Level One
[strike]Clean floors in these rooms (even if it is around the clutter) [/strike]
    Level Two
    Clean baths, toilets and sinks
    Clear any clutter from desk
Dust PC and desk and wipe off those cup rings!! (baby wipes are fantastic for this!!)

    Level One
[strike]Vacuum the floor, even if it's just where you can see [/strike]
    Level Two
    Level Three
Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors
    Extra Task List

As usual pick any one or more of the following if you fancy an extra challenge today and are still alive after entering the kids rooms!!
    • Fun one.. look in that medicine cupboard... is there anything you can fling? Is there anything you need to stock up on? It is soon to be snot and grot season so make sure you have all you will need.. nothing worse than wanting a lemsip right now and having none in!!!!
    • Time for the Friday Flylady Fling, in the toy box!!!! aim for 27.. if no toy box you’ll have to choose another area!
    • Clean 2 radiators or the skirting in any room of your choice!.. or if you have the bug today you could do both! ;)
    • Clean any one (or more) window that needs doing

    Morning all,

Today we have the usual saturday morning dash to sort the house as the ILs are coming over. I don't know why I let it happen, but every weekend is the same. :o

Serena, glad to hear that your mum's over the first ten days, that's really great news. Hope that she continues to improve.

Nearlynewbie, yes please! I'd love some advice on how to tackle his poopy problem. More for his sake really, if he poos himself at school - well, let's be honest, some children are just plain evil and will tease him mercilessly, he doesn't deserve it.

Lil_me, the good news just keeps on coming from your end! Glad to hear that things are getting sorted - I bet you can't wait to get settled in. Moving is always a really good time to de-clutter too (also to find the [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] treasures buried in the sofa, the airing cupboard, the kids rooms...).

Right, I'm off to tidy and prepare for the family. Wish me luck, if I'm not back in two days, call the emergency services as I'm lost in Owen's room, hiking over the huge mountains of toys. :D

    Congratulations Jill.action-smiley-033.gif
Good luck with the house lil_me.sport-smiley-001.gif

Haven't done a lot of flying, really gonna get on with today and everyone in the house is gonna help.

Right going to get on now. Will update later.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Morning all, good night Denise, and pigpen :rotfl: hope you feel better when you get up

Thanks for all the good luck wishes, I really hope they help us as DP has his heart set on this house (well actually just on the garage I think, typical man)

Declutter starts today, when I get motivated :o coffee time I think. I also don't want to be banging around too much upstairs as DPs note said get him up at 12 so that means he was in VERY late.

Part of me doesn't want to start packing incase we don't get the house, other part thinks well make a start you silly girl as you'll have less than 4 weeks to get moved! I suppose even if we don't get this one we'll be moving one way or another soon, houses coming up on the rentals all the time.

I was debating putting some stuff on ebay for extra cash but I don't know if I'll have the time to deal with that so I think it'll just be going to the charity shop. I think if I aim for one bin bag out a day of each thing I am decluttering then at least I'll be getting somewhere with it.

Must remember I need to collect DPs Dad from the airport at Newcastle, I best check the airport website as I can't remember when the flight is :o I know where they are flying in from which helps.

What I hope to do this weekend (edited from just today)

Dailies - floors downstairs, S&S kitchen, bathroom, meals, dogs stuff etc

    Collect DPs Dad from airport

[STRIKE]Start sorting boys toys, hopefully with their help, might get them to write a list of what they want to keep, allocate a box for each type of thing then go from there. (aim for one bin bag) [/STRIKE] one bin bag full ditched, boys not helping much

Start decluttering clothes, our stuff we haven't worn for over a year I think will be a good one to start on. (aim for one bin bag)

[strike]Delcutter plates etc cupboard [/strike] carrier bag full of plastic plates etc aswell as a few odd bowls etc gone

[strike]Paper work declutter, decide what we really don't need and box what we do (aim to sort one box and fill a bin bag) [/strike]

Bag up clothes we wear occasionally like DPs suits, my going out clothes etc

Declutter clothes that are too small for the boys

More assignment work (when boys are in bed)

Me[strike]al plan (I really need to run down the stock pile of food as I will have less cupboards, so going to have to try very hard at this one)[/strike]

    Teensy as possible shopping list

Make a list of who we need to inform/change address with if we move, got a few listed last night (about 20) but loads more to list
One day I might be more organised...........

    Hi all

First HUGE congratulations to Jill and her family :D

Kaz - you have my sympathy on the kiddy front. Loving them is easy its the liking them thats the hard part (sometimes). When we decided to have kiddies I truely had no understanding of how bl00dy hard it would be. Glad you feel more positive today!

Serena - Sending you hugs it must be a really hard time for you at the moment.

Lil_me - Positive vibes being sent on the home front. If you need references you should have got us lot to write one for you :D .

Well Friday was a bit of a wash out for me really. Felt yucky so got not a lot done. DD1 was miserable and confused because she wasnt at school and seemed to think it was somehow my fault! We did make a very tasty fresh cream sponge cake and I did HM chinese for tea which was scoffed very quickly:D .

I did cheat and did a wash last night that I pegged out last night too so ahead of the game there. The house however looked a bit worse for wear when i left this morning so hopefully DH will have a sort out when he gets back from the RSPCA centre. They have gone to look at some doggies that they list on the website as suitable for young families so fingers crossed. Couple of jack russells and couple of cocker spaniels (I fancy the spaniels myself). Centre does not open till 11.30 so sat here at work waiting to hear.

I was good this moring and tea is in the fridge marinating (chicken in HM BBQ sauce), yummy!!! I have also done my meal plan till the end of the month and I have all the main ingredients in so just fruit & veg top ups - determined to come in under budget this month!
  • Morning,
I've just surfaced for the 3rd time and decided this is as good as I'm going to feel today. Drank silly amounts of free champagne starting at 3pm and had to schmooze with some French visitors. Didn't get home 'til 11 and was in no state to post let alone fly.

I'm just going to tidy up and bring the washing in that's been out since Thursday ( it must be dry by now..). At some point I'll have to train to Newcastle to fetch my car from work so that I've got it to go to work in on Sunday. I could go in my mum's car which is here for the week but then I'd have both cars at work

If I manage any thing more I'll be amazed enough to share it with you :rotfl:

Enjoy whatever you're doing today, I did read the posts but I'm an empty head this morning.

Solwaykid would offer a hug but might get drunk from touching you :rotfl: hope you feel better soon, make sure you don't drive too early, I have several friends who were banned after drink driving the 'morning after'. I'll wave as I go past Newcastle :) picking up from the airport at about 3.45pm

Shell I never thought of that :rotfl: DPs reference from his employer makes him look like Mothet Teresa :rotfl: just read it when I came across the stuff he dumped last night so that's now in envelope to take to estate agents, just need to find a utility bill in his name (there is only the BT one, so far not found it) and get the letter from council then that's all the application in. Unbelievable how much paperwork they need, proofs of everything!

Major paperwork declutter started. Bin bag full already :D so much crap that just gets kept. That's just from one small collection of paperwork so much more to do, was smiling like a cheshire cat when I tied the bag up just the relief of decluttering, am I sad ? DP a little scared as I said he'll have to size down his tools etc collection, he looked mortified! I only mean what is broken or he has 4 of etc.

Boys are working on their room, sort of. They've got a box for certain types of toy they want to keep so are hunting for those but keep getting distracted playing. I was proud of them as they've bagged up all of the huge train set. They don't know we've put the deposit down but I said we can think about moving if they clear out their old toys so they are very keen to help now, quite upsetting in a way how desperate they are to move, usually kids hate even the thought of it, just shows how much they hate it here I suppose. Oh and DS1 found the library book which he lost months ago, so I won't have to pay to replace that now! Must get those and his others returned next week before they get packed by accident.

Right back to decluttering, anyone got a spare bin or recycling box :rotfl: mine is about to burst!

(Oh and the bed we were looking at for DS2 as the bedrooms are smaller, well not smaller in total but split differently as here we have 2 huge and one tiny room, and will have to split the boys is £300+ but I've spotted 2 similar/the same in free ads and on ebay for under £100 :D )
One day I might be more organised...........
