Hello, thanks for the tips re cleaning the granite. yes, its worktops and they look fabulous, black and shiny with sparkley bits in it but I'm terrified of ruining it:o Stupidy I asked the woman what they'd cost and now I'm scared to use it all in case I mark it or stop it shining. Really silly of me but I'm not used to having such lovely things:o

So, good day so far. IL's wanted to come and see DS as they've been away so both up and dressed by 9am, DH set off for work at 7am. Its his first day back (bar working one day last week) for almost a fornight and its lovely to have the house back to ourselves. Thats really mean of me but I like having my own space and just pleasing me and DS (and dogs). IL's took DS and dogs to fed the ducks so nipped to Mr T's. I don't want to spend anymore on food now this month apart from milk and fresh veg/fruit we'll need, will use BM for bread. Both freezers are fit to bursting yet I still brought two reduced whole chickens. I can't resist the yellow stickered stuff, think I'm addicated to buying it. Also brought DS a toy for his 1st birthday - wheres that year gone?! Anyway, cupboards fully stocked, Used one of those Coinstar things today as paid £50 in change into bank a few weeks ago and still had a carrier bag full. I know they charge you for using them but it was very easy and handy and just used the money off my shopping. Came home and washed my car for the first time in ages, BM was set to do its stuff overnight so cut up and made DH lunch and WM been one and pegged out.

rach hugs, hope you feel better soon
shell your butlins experience sounds like my idea of hell too, what a shame for you
hugs to everyone else who wants one

    [STRIKE]pay MBNA[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]wash car[/STRIKE]
    take plastic bottles to tip
take books and DVD back to library

Looking at it like that it doesn't look like I've done much over the last couple of days but I have done washing, etc. I've tidied up and cleaned downstairs so it's sort of presentable.

DS should have started school today but I had a phone call yesterday afternoon to say that there was a place available at my DD's school if I still wanted it. So, I ended up having a home visit this morning from that school
he goes for a visit on Thursday and then he starts next week.

Working tonight so anything that isn't done in the next half an hour or so won't get done. Going to go to the library after I pick DD up from school I think so that will be another job done.

Need to make sandwiches for DH and DD for tomorrow as well.

I probably should be doing some of these now instead of being on here.

    Catch you later

  • hey everyone I haven't been on here for 2 weeks as I've had my hands full with a large number of rescue rats, amougst other things. To top it all off the plasterer is coming to do the lounge on saturday and then he's back at the beginning of october to do almost everything else that's left so there's lots of prep work to do still before then.

Thankfully now things appear to be calming down a bit, or atleast I'm getting into the swing of having 8 rat cages to deal with. Unfortunately it's been at the cost of the state of the house, which really needs some flylady attention. So here I am, in need of a good kick up the backside.

Yesterday the kitchen was mostly done. Everywhere else - argh !!

    To do list
    Kitchen
    Clean floors,

  • Been in from work about half an hour and had a cuppa and caught up with the posts.

aimee- reading about your cat sneezing on your ice cream made me laugh out loud. :rotfl:
7WW- hope you've got more energy an dare feeling brighter today
shell- sorry to hear you had such an 'eventful' time away.
rach- well done with the weight loss and good luck with the writing and job application
maralum- hugs to your cuddly baby
Denise- good luck tracking down the man you're looking for!
Shirley- good to hear from you, sound slike you're very busy with the ratties
pigpen- hope your knee is better this afternoon
vanilla- hope the grant goes your way.

Well not a thing done here as yet.
Will start tea in a mo and make the lunches for tomorrow whilst in the kitchen.

DS has got woodcraft tonight and whilst he's there I need to go to Sainsbury's. Our cat has got extremely fussy about his food so I need to return some boxes of Whiskas and buy something he'll hopefully eat.
Furniture and floor hoovered yesterday so hopefully a quick dust and tidy will get done when i get back and DS is in bed.
Washing is pretty much up together so thanks for the extra of checking the coats pigpen, I'll find those and sort them later.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

I'm having a horrible day. Almost ran someone down, was not my fault, she ran out in front of me. Good job I was in the big car, it has brakes of steel and stops dead almost instantly, even at that, I did hit her. She was fine, said sorry and walked away, me, I drove home shaking, so my chores in teh town didn't get done.

And, DS2 has a bad cold, so he has not been sleeping at night, so neither have I.

Oh My God!!! I found a load of library books that were due to be returned..... wait for it.... 02 April!!!!! *cries* I'm going to get arrested!
  • Well thats another day done at the fun factory. About to head home and assault my lounge.

Shirley i was just about to pm you to ask how you and the rattles were as we hadnt seen you for a bit. I do miss my rattles they were fab pets. I would get some more but there's just no-where to put them in the house.

I have decided i dont want to meal plan but am going to come up with a load of ideas and put them on the board in the kitchen for what i can do with what is in the house. Then i can just cross em off as i go. Does that sound sensible.

Right see you all in an hr hopefully with a clean and tidy lounge and i will have somewhere to stack my wood sorted which i WILL be chopping this weekend
