hello, utterly confused by what to do about cashback - whether or not to bother. The deal i like is with mobiles2yourdoor, what are they like please?

I've had three contracts with buymobilephones.net and have never had a problem with cashback. They're fairly tight with when you have to send your bills off etc but it you're reasonably organised you shouldn't have a problem.

Then either you work for them or wait for the postman each time the claims are due. I prefer actually telling the poor suckers the whole story. Fairly tight? Don't you mean they are so upfront that they deliberately don't tell telling people in their t&c on the website that they ONLY have 14 days from the bill date each time to get their claims TO them? That obviously works quite well, human nature being what it is, when the phone has already been received. It also ensures there's no way most of its customers will be as fortunate as you appear to have been. Seems to me anyone going for that is rather foolish even without the about to recommence postal strikes!

In fact, it's the only "usual suspect" company I'm aware of that doesn't let it's punters know the timescale for claims in advance. It's one of the things which prevented me using them some while back. Would be a bit amazing if anyone allowed less time to claim and is the same as Rainbow Mobile - one of the top three most disreputable companies around (the others are Phones2Udirect and The Mobile Outlet). They may pay if you can beat the Royal Mail "efficiency" and aren't away for a couple of days around each of the relevant billing dates but in my book THAT makes them dishonest AND makes a very good example for my thread... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=549859

I can second that. They've changed the T+Cs since I joined and now trying to say I missed out sending one doc (even though I did) and that none of my cashbacks are valid !!! (£420). funnily enough my wife got the same deal and, suspiciouslty, they lost the same doc !!!

About to take them to small claims court ....

I wouldn't second the cpw comment. It's a common one and I have addressed that many times before recently - to no avail it seems! Forget how cpw were in the past; they ain't that way now by a LONG way!

Sorry - I wasnt recommending cpw - no experience of them, rather advising others to avoid Cool New Mobile...
