Thomas Land is really good, we're going again at Easter. Definitely worth doing for the under 8s. We liked all of Drayton Manor actually. I've not been to Geronimo but I've heard good things. I think we're going to Deer Shed this year, we were supposed to be there last year but chicken pox struck.
Surgery went well, recovery went well, apart from the blood thinners which mean every tiny bump is leaving MASSIVE bruises, she walked into the corner of a table at school which scared the life out of me when she got undressed as her crotch is bright blue.
Hope your brother is out soon Cinny.
Sorry to hear about your job Birdie, hope the interview goes well.
NIM has an interview next week on my birthday, would be a great present if he got it as it's a £7k pay rise and it's with my old council employer so really good pension etc.
Next booking period opens for students on Friday, I need to do some sums work out how much I need to put aside for bills in March when not much will come in and then all the rest can go off debts. Hopefully that will be enough to clear one of the £2-£2.5k cards in one go.
Appointed an accountant, she wants me to become a LTD company rather than a sole trader, so may do that shortly. Feels like a big step.
Faced my former friend the other night, she was at a social event where I didn't expect her. And by faced I mean we were in the same small room with around 20 other people and she stuck to one end and I stuck to the other so no need at all to speak to one another. Glad to have that band aid ripped off, but still no desire to meet with our mutual friendship group and be sucked back into that tangled web.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Poor Grace, glad she's recovering well! My Brother is on blood thinners too now and considering his job I'm a little worried
He came home on Friday though!
I've got fully sucked into Thomas Land now, we've been looking at the hotel and maybe having a night over. Oscar would lose his mind. I'm so easily sold! (I also haven't had a night away from home since last January so I'm grasping at anything)
Good idea appointing an accountant, less work for you and you know everything is getting filed properly. And fingers crossed for NIM's job interview!0 -
We booked the travelodge which is about 6miles away but was £41 compared to the £160 or something for Drayton Manor's hotel. MSE ftwDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Glad Grace is doing well apart from the blood thinners, poor thing. Fingers crossed for the interview for NIM. Also well done for facing the ex friend, I think the first time you see them will be the hardest and hopefully it won't happen often.
Glad the sleeping is going better Cinny. I'm not doing very well at getting Heidi to sleep in her own bed.. keep hoping the next night will be better!
I've heard good things about Drayton manor, sounds like a lovely idea for Oscar's birthday.0 -
Insurers sent a random cheque today for £2180.... which is close to the remaining amount they owed us
I do need to open the email sent a few days ago and reply to it but I'm very happy with that. So once that is cleared that is definitely a small card paid off.

Okay, only CMD knew this figure to date I think, but our big scary debt figure which I will now own up to now we can see a way to paying it off was £65,773.65 on January 1st 2018. I'm going to set myself a goal of trying to get that sub £40,000 by January 1st 2019. £70.61 a day, beating my previous record of £69 a day back in 2008 when I cleared the last wedge of debt. January goal is therefore £2188.99 to stay on track. Those are some big numbers!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That is a scary amount of debt. But if anyone can pull this off is you. Looking forward to reading about it. Do you have a plan? I still remember the first diaries, they helped me so much to stay focus on getting debt free. Good luck!
Glad the surgery went well for Grace but boo on the blood thinners.
I sold 2 things this week, aiming for 3 a week. Not only to make some money but just get clutter free would be so awesome.0 -
My plan is work. If I have some down time between work then bits of ebay, selling books, always Quidco. The good thing about being self employed is you can usually work more and earn more. As my private hourly rate is anywhere from £60-£300 depending on the style of class it's a lot better to teach if I can get the students than do surveys for example.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
