Airlines and special requirements

An airline twice ignored my special dietary requirements for commercial purposes which could have put my life in danger if other passengers consumed the food stuff. Very angry and stressed, I dont think they fully grasped it and messages at check in were not passed on
I want to make a complaint.
Any suggestion letters please as it's unacceptable

Why would your life be in danger if someone ate your food?

Are you being deliberately obtuse? Presumably the OP means that they have some severe food allergy that could be triggered by the presence of food nearby even if they don't eat it themselves. I've certainly been on planes where it has been announced that no nuts will be served for this reason.

Yes. The particles could get into air system and cause anaphylaxis.
The airline in questioned caused me distress this weekend and a few months back.
I am so angry and also upset.
I'm going to write to demand compensation and demand that policies are changed and the thick staff get a better understanding of the severity

Is there an obligation on an airline to cater for such cases as yourself to the inconvenience of all the other passengers?
Or is it that you may consider that your medical condition places limitations on what you can do or where you can go or what means you use to travel?
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Are you actually pre-ordering your special meal or just mentioning to the checkin agent? Airlines will often need 2-5 days notice for special meals.

If your condition relates to a nut allergy then you likely will need to contact the airline customer services team well in advance of your flights to notify them and REQUEST that they don't serve nut products. Also mention to the cabin manager upon boarding. There is I believe no obligation on the airline to abide by this request. I am aware of one airline that is quite clear and states that they can not guarantee a nut free cabin and suggest you make alternative travel plans.

Finally, please don't call airline staff 'thick' - as I and I am sure others would consider that rude.

If you are genuinely at that much of a risk then perhaps public transport isn't for you ?

    Demand compensation for what?

How can the airline guarantee no passenger hasn't brought a bag of nuts on board the aircraft?

I'm aware how dangerous such allergies can be, but I think you expectations are unrealistic and maybe you should review any future travel plans, not demand compensation and insult all airline staff!

Its this entitlement culture. sod the other 200+ passengers. I have a back complaint. Should I demand business class comfort at check in?

Perhaps you should wear a particle filter mask for the duration of your passage through the airports and the flight?
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
