  • Fantastic piece of advice! Thank you. Quick to do and brilliant evidence in case of a dispute. Would you consider emailing the Cheap Energy Club with this tip, in case it isn't picked up from here?

More than happy to Marigold...it does make sense, but trust me i've been through literally years of disputes with me saying XYZ and the energy firm saying prove it.

A simple photo would have shot them down in flames...had a meter swapped previously and wasn't aware they recycle old meters, the person who done the exchange didn't write the new meter number down and the ensuing problems were huge.

As i said a simple snap shot showing meter reading (phone date stamps it) would have solved all that stress....so now its snap snap and relax...lol

I was just about to pass my readings to Iresa for this month and I have run into a snag.

My electric meter has just gone round the clock and the current reading is now 00420.Iresa on line submit readings is stating an error, saying readings must be greater than 999985,the previous reading submitted.

I can only imagine, that this is going to be fun trying to sort this out with Iresa !

Classic. Not sure if they're got any money left to pay for the software engineer to fix this (all current credits being used to pay fines). Good luck!

Oh God..............am I glad I got a new (dumb) leccy meter fitted 18 months ago !!
  • My post about Iresa on 22nd Aug:

I transferred my electricity supply to Bulb in early June. To date, I am still waiting for Iresa to refund the money they owe me, and close the account their end.

I have made numerous calls to their 'customer service' - I begin to wonder if they only employ 3 agents, as I have only ever spoken to Sonia, Aidan or Vlad.

Trying to get a straight answer from them as to what will happen when has been nigh on impossible, and I quite frankly rue the day I ever started having dealings with this shocking firm.

I was not entirely surprised that the 8 week deadline for my complaint to be actioned went by without any movement from Iresa, so raised the matter to the Energy Ombudsman.

Whilst the Ombudsman's case is in the investigation stage, Iresa processed a refund to my bank account today of the money owed. However, Iresa decided to remove the credit interest entries that had been applied to my account since my service started with Bulb (13/06/17). I have passed on the relevant information to the Ombudsman's office, and will update again in due course.

I am glad I took print outs of everything on my online account with Iresa, as this is now my only proof of the credit interest entries on the account that have now vanished. We're only talking pennies, but this feels underhand.

I am in the same position as warwickbears. However I have not had any action from Iresa yet. I took screen shots, can't believe they hang on to your money and then nab the interest your owed!

.....I suspect that you will find that interest is only paid on credit balances as long as you are a customer -have a good read of IRESA's ts & cs:)

    Indeed it does, T&C Clauses:

4.9 We will send you a bill in respect of each month of supply on the 10th working day of the following month. Our bill will set out:
    4.9 (b) the interest credits payable on your opening balance for the month of supply, calculated in accordance with clauses 4.11 to 4.14, shown as a credit;
4.9 (f) your closing balance at the end of the month of supply reflecting all of the above.

    (Emphasis theirs)

Whether they consistently manage 4.9 itself is another matter, but it doesn't invalidate the following terms.
3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux
