Incorrect Delivery.

From what I've read private couriers can be held liable for illness, death etc.0

He picked up Snake A for me. But it's a big reptile event. So I'm guessing he picked up 10-20 snakes. Maybe more.0
-
So seller gives the courier Snake A and Snake B.
Courier then gives you Snake B incorrectly.
Is this correct? - Both snakes are from the same seller?
What happened to Snake A?0 -
I'm guessing from different sellers.0

They have insurance. Just like all couriers. So I believe they'd be held liable if they were given a snake in good health & deliver it sick or dead. They should never transport a sick animal. Lots of snake illness are airborn. Therefore they should only be transported when healthy.
I'm sure they'd be insured incase anything like this happens too. As the seller and I have done nothing wrong. The courier has made a error.
I was expecting a snake that weighs 100grams. So I purchased a small house for it as a 100g snake is small. The one which turned up was 1000g, so I had to buy a bigger house for him.
Now the bigger house is used. I won't be able to return it and I will be out of pocket by £100 because of the couriers error. Any help on this matter too? Am I entitled to the money back that I've lost on the bigger house?0 -
The only thing you are entitled to is for the courier to deliver your snake and collect the snake he mistakenly delivered, there is someone somewhere expecting the snake that he paid for to be delivered.
Stop being so difficult and let the courier correct his mistake0 -
It gets worse you knew full well that it was the wrong snake why would you go out and buy a new house instead of immediatly calling the courier to tell him he had delivered the wrong one0

Can you answer post 14 please as its getting a bit confusing!
As you pointed out, a 100g and a 1000g snake is a huge difference. Surely you would have noticed this when it was delivered as im guessing you would check the snakes condition in the view of the courier.
I could be totally wrong here, but you asked for advice, but seem to have an agenda that you want to find a loophole in which you can keep snake B. Im guessing Snake B has considerable more value then Snake A.0 -

I know nothing about buying and selling snakes, but the seller (or breeder?) will have surely spent more time raising the thing since presumably the one you received is older.
I can see now why you are happy to keep the one that was delivered to you by mistake.
Surely you would be duty bound to point out to the carrier at the time of delivery that the delivered snake wasn't the one you ordered?
Or do snake couriers leave their consignments in the nearest wheelie-bin if the door isn't answered - like other couriers?0
