    I've been taking up to 50 a day. Some from the Doc 30mg and rest from over the counter. I've damaged my self already with constipation. My own fault I know but I didn't plan to get addicted. Just caught up on me. I've been addicted 3 years now. Rough life but shouldn't use it as an excuse. Hopefully I aim to be codeine free in 6 months using a suboxone treatment.
    You take 1500mg a day? the adult dose for 24hrs is 240mg you do know that the opioid receptors only hold so much of an opioid.. 350mg's of codeine is the max your receptors can hold. Your dose if true is a fatal one, in fact are you sure you take 50x30mg a day? You :should be dead.:A

    If he's buying it over the counter then it's cocodamol or similar, so around 8mg per tablet.

    I'd assume the numbers provided by the GP to be very low. If not, addiction would be the least of his problems.

    I read it that the OP takes his prescribed amount of 30mg (which I assumed to be co-codamol) and then OTC co-codamol, the highest of which I think is 15mg. I'd also be worried about the paracetamol levels if that's the case.
    Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    Also I was getting just codeine 30mg from Doctor. Not the co codamol which has the paracetamol in them.

    Some people can take a lot more than that once it's built up in the body. Crazy isn't it. I'm lucky I'm not dead but if I'm honest my thinking was to commit suicide slowly taking the codeine instead of just hanging myself or jumping in front of a train. I'm now getting help with my problems and moving forward slowly but getting there.

    If what your saying is true you really need to be seeking some help, do yourself a favour, make an appointment to see your GP, you need to be honest with your GP so he knows the full extent of your problems. I am glad you feel your moving forward but you need to come clean and discuss the self medicating and address it with help.

    Hi. I am getting help now. That's why I'm moving forward. Take a while but I have to be positive! Thanks.

    I will not get addicted, never use over the amount prescribed. I know its a awful thing to get a drug addiction, at first i was throwing up, thought i was dying for real, but within a week i had settled down and now the Oxycodone just boringly does its job, i get nausea sometimes, no appetite and confusion sometimes, but the pain killing is worth the weird side effects.

    Famous last words.......... :cool:
    You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:
