I can't understand why I was put straight onto support group last year without an assessment. Since then my ailments have got a lot worse so don't know what the outcome will be but my aim is to get back to work. Thanks for your support.
Like I said - welcome to Tory Britain! This is what they do!!!
Sincerely hope you stay on it! Good luck! You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

I was told that because there was such a backlog of assessments (9 months and growing longer) the DWP just did a bulk transfer into the support group on the strength of the medical evidence supplied with the application form and without the face to face assessment.Do not be fooled into believing that this society cannot be made fairer because hard work isn't necessarily all it takes.
There are those on MSE DT who know the price of everything but the value of little.0 -

I had a codeine addiction and it wasn't pleasant. I'm told the withdrawal is akin to withdrawing from heroin- I've never taken heroin so can't comment on that but it's not pleasant- either the addiction or the withdrawal.
What type of withdrawl was it? when it comes to drugs (or drink) never come off cold turkey as your body has become so used to the product it stops producing its own chemicals it got from whatever you took hence going into withdrawal as its now missing vital chemicals for body functions.
You are meant to cut down at a level that your physical and mental sides can tolerate so both stop the cravings and want less till your body is used to having little to none.
It also drops the chance of relapsing hugely as you wouldn't have to worry about taking one in an emergency and getting addcited again.
Its a similar process even for cigarettes which is why people often fail, they are so used to the habit.0 -

My own fault I know but I didn't plan to get addicted. Just caught up on me. I've been addicted 3 years now. Rough life but shouldn't use it as an excuse. Hopefully I aim to be codeine free in 6 months using a suboxone treatment.
Good luck with the withdrawal of codeine. So many people under estimate how quick and easy it is to get addicted to prescription drugs.

I'm on Oxycodone - way stronger than codiene, Oxycodone is seriously strong like heroin. Anyways, this assessment is a farce like most of the assessments made, usually falsified by the assessor and given to a decision maker who then stops your benefits.
This is what the assessment people are paid to do and they are given targets as well, usually not professionals either who carry out assessments, just regular RGN's who don't give a hoot about you.
Best bet is to claim JSA and get a job if that is what you want in future.
I hope that you recorded the conversation between you and the assessor, it can come in very handy if you decide to go to appeals tribunal, i believe that evidence can be used there.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -

A "regular RGN" is most certainly a healthcare professional!0 -

I was going to record it but my phone isn't an up to date one really. It's not a smart phone but yeah I believe it can be used as evidence!0 -

Please don't get addicted. It will ruin your whole life! All I got from Docs was co codamol 30mg. Been going years about my back but every time they just write a script. Never sent for a scan or the like. Legal drug dealers is what they are! Just my opinion of course.0
