Hope you get the result your looking for op.
I agree. Way too many people commenting just to start an argument and provide a bit of entertainment for themselves. Read into that what you will but it also seems to give some posters a warm fuzzy feeling of being part of a Pack too..... Dont understand it myself.0 -

Putting words into my mouth, eg, I have a bladder problem which causes me to leak quite a lot. I told her this a couple of times but she kept saying, yeah but you only leak a bit and not everyday. Had to correct her twice!!!
Also, I have just started a treatment to give up my addiction to codeine. She turned around and said why didn't you just stop taking them, it can't be that hard!!!
Due to the codeine addiction and a lot of other things I am suffering with depression, she said you look ok to me!!!
I could not believe what she was saying. I managed to keep calm just!!!
Is this some sort of tactic she was playing to see if I got angry or abusive as she also asked me if I had behavioural problems due to codeine addiction!
Was she trying to wind me up or what? What do you think?
Remember my wifes ESA assessment a while back. Complete waste of time.
In her case, her consultant, who she'd been seeing for about a year, agreed with one thing, the nurse who visited at home and saw her for 30 mins, had a different opinion. This just can't be right.
Whatever she said, the ESA nurse tried to argue. In the end they sort of agreed but when the report came out the person had made up what they wanted anyway.
Can't be right when a consultant says one thing yet one person can overrule it all. It sounds like they are encouraged though to turn people down if they can.
Not sure how to fix it but there is an appeal process. Good luck.0 -
Thank you paulafoel. I admit I blew the head but it's because of responses I get on this forum. It's happened a few times before. Just wanted to know why assessors can be like that and wanted to know if people had the same dealings in their assessments. I won't be asking for anymore help but if I really have to I'll just ignore the haters. Thank you for your help.0

No worries. I know what you mean. As always the "wolfpack" are always waiting on these forum to pick holes, give their opinion on things that are none of their business.
Its annoying I will agree. I've had similar - one poster once told me my disabled wife should be sacked from her job in the NHS because he had to pay tax to pay her sick pay (when she was ill due to her disability).
Some nasty people on here who seem to get a kick out of it which is all a bit sad if you ask me.0 -

I hope you get some resolution and good luck getting over withdrawal it is a horrific thing I have seen a friend go through it
At least one post has been removed.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
It actually would be better for me not to get into support group because there's no help available to get back to work or so I've been told by the job centre. If I go into wrag group then I may be able to get help back into work.
I wanted to do an nvq 2 or similar in painting and decorating but no funding available that I could find.0 -
But your not really looking for help you just want to know if the assessor was trying to wind you up and as I wasn't there I can't answer that.
As for codeine addiction you must be on a fair whack to get addicted, mind at least you don't !!!! yourself what with constipation being a side effect.
I've been taking up to 50 a day. Some from the Doc 30mg and rest from over the counter. I've damaged my self already with constipation. My own fault I know but I didn't plan to get addicted. Just caught up on me. I've been addicted 3 years now. Rough life but shouldn't use it as an excuse. Hopefully I aim to be codeine free in 6 months using a suboxone treatment.0 -
I would've been angry at the assessor too. She should not have made any comments on your health issues to your face. Her job is to observe and report (in writing) to give as much information as possible for the decision maker.
You can then use the mr if necessary, followed by an appeal.0 -
I am sorry for your experience weedave (are you a gent or a lady by the way?)
I am also annoyed at some of the comments, where people assume that just because they or someone they know can work with a certain ailment, that YOU should too.
I know some people with limbs missing, who are registered blind, or who have colostomy bags who work full time quite successfully, and others who have no physical ailments who can't work because of anxiety and depression, and other mental health issues. They find communicating hard, getting up in the morning hard, and mixing with other people, and achieving goals and targets at work very stressful.
Also, some people have ailments where they are fine for a few weeks, and then ill for a few weeks, and trying to hold down a job would be incredibly hard. (This is why we have these benefits, for people who struggle to work!) It's not ideal, people feel wretched enough as it is, (for being on benefits,) and people saying 'well my dad worked as a miner 16 hours a day for 40 years with no arms and no legs, so YOU should be able to work' doesn't help!
Weedave, I wish you well, but frankly, it doesn't sound promising, as when the assessor has been harsh/mean etc, people are usually taken off their ESA. Be prepared for this, and find out NOW what to do if it happens. I hope you are successful though. Also, find out how to how to complain about this assessor woman.
It's a brutal system. Let people stay on this benefit for years and get used to it, and then throw them off it like they're nothing.
Welcome to Tory Britain!
Finally though, don't get mad on here. You'll get yourself banned! Try to stay calm. You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

I am male. I'm too bothered about being taken off it I was just shocked the way the assessor acted.
I can't understand why I was put straight onto support group last year without an assessment. Since then my ailments have got a lot worse so don't know what the outcome will be but my aim is to get back to work. Thanks for your support.0
