Beanie 3 years is ridiculous. No interest of course.
Thank you Diodiva and katykicker. I couldn't have done it without the help of all the lovely people on here.

Do you have any old books. You could sell these via places like Ziffit. They give you cash back for old books, I've made quite a bit this way.
Same thing for old unwanted jewellery, mobile phones. You never know so of it may be worth something.
Sorry if I'm a bit late in posting. Only just joined.
Hope you reach your goals0 -
MikeEvans. I haven't heard of Ziffit. I tried a few other companies but my books weren't accepted, probably as they are old. But not old enough to be worth anything
I will definitely give them a try.
Mr P's sister has given us £200 to spend as we wish. Added to total and popped in the bank today.
I am busy making flowers for the wedding bouquets. It cost me just £20 for all the fabric, bouquet holders etc. I can get the buttonholes for men out of it too. It feels like a saving of £700 which is how much we paid for flowers at DS1's wedding in New York just 2 years ago. Enjoying the preparation for this one a lot more.
I have written numerous posts but because of the dipping internet connection I must have lost them
Today I am listing and relisting items for sale either on 3bay or fbook, plus getting some books and dvds out to see if I can sell them. I have 100s of books. Will update my progress later.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I tried to sell my books but only 2 were wanted for £1.40. I have decided to try the boot fair Sunday after next. DD and I will share the cost.
We are thinking of listing the cottage on Groupon to give us some much needed money over the winter. The cottage doesn't give us any income yet but we have to make sure we can cover its bills. The only problem is that Groupon keep 20ish %. We tried it for a while last year, could have sold it 20 times over but it only gave us £113 for 6 people for a four night stay. I know it is better than nothing but we really need a bit more to cover the bills and maintenance. Just thinking out loud
So far this week; another £12 on prolific academic, other sites are building up slowly. I have sorted out more of DS's things to sell at boot sale. Not sure what to do with a pile of PS2 games I found. I don't know if any work and we don't have a PS2.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

The problem we have now is we need to raise around £2000.
The costs we will have are;
Flights £1000 for two of us -spent £1400
Car hire £500 -£0 but will need to spend something.
Food £800, a lot of eating out and we will want to treat family. Menu planning and pricing things up. We are looking at markets etc.
Fuel, incidentals, £200, more like £100 needed now.
Rehearsal dinner £500. Not happening. Maybe a barbeque at the house
Added, kennels for dog... £140 spent
£3000
.
I wanted to review our achievements and work out how much we still need to raise in the last few weeks. 3 weeks to go...
We are hoping to spend no more than £400 on food, so we still need to raise more money.Another £200 plus car hire costs. I looked for smallest cheapest car for 15 days and it was more than we can afford. For that reason we are going to do as much as we can without a car and then hire one for the minimum number of days we need one whilst out there.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I think that you have done just so amazingly well.
Can't believe that it is only 3 weeks to go!

Thank you Beanie. I am really looking forward to it but also panicking a little bit in case I forget something. I am also worried in case we need more money but we can only spend what we have so really nothing to worry about.
I am busy researching free things to do in the various parts of USA that we will be visiting and especially when we are at Grand Canyon. Our priest said we must go for a helicopter ride. He really doesn't understand. I know one thing and that is I will not be pressured into spending money I don't have.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi poohbear59, congratulations on everything you have achieved. I'm not allowed to post links yet, but you can search the internet things like "how to make money online"; several websites (including moneysavingexpert) have articles which list legitimate ways you can make money on the side.
I haven't read through your thread, but I personally think that things like matched betting, changing your bank account for £100+, or selling any personal stories you have, is the way to go to make up the remaining £1351. My cousin broke her back while horse riding (I think she was racing) and sold her story to a magazine for £1000.
Good luck0 -
