Today I have cleared out DS1's bedroom apart from a few pictures and some books. He came back at Christmas but didn't take anything back with him to USA. I think it is time to donate and sell the rest of his stuff.
There is a local car boot sale tomorrow so Mr P has put everything that may be saleable into the car. Usually I would sort through and price things but this time they have gone as they are. Lots of cds videos, dvds, belts, books, shot glasses, and random electrical stuff. I also have boxes of black socks, all used, dozens of empty A4 files and note pads.
I will make a 'free' box of all the things that I just want rid of eg electrical wires. It usually attracts people.
There is no set cost for the boot sale. They have asked for a donation.
Better check with him first though! My Dad got rid of a load of my stuff without asking (when I was renting and had no space to store stuff)Must use my stash up!0 -
Great idea to car boot DS1's bits & bobs.

I agree, Knit Witch.
Unless it's something you're 100% certain they won't use again, like a pile of clothes from when they were 12, I think it's only fair to ask them first, especially for things like CDs and DVDs!0 -
Hi just checking in to say hi. You are doing so well and how exciting that the flights are booked! It will come round quick
Good Luck for the Car Boot Sale!0 -

I wouldn't bother- they won't work in the USA anyway (the DVDs) unless they have a multi region player. I'm certain they wouldn't be worth shipping either, as they can be bought so cheaply. I'm sure they have taken what they want/ need with them. They probably won't even notice these things are gone- how would they after all. My OH had to leave much of his stuff in America when he came back to UK and has never wanted for any of his childhood stuff!Minimalist

Well I made £65 today. I gave a £10 donation for the playground. So have a profit of £55 to pay into my fund. I took dvds and cds and sold none. I did a 'free' box and got rid of random things. I sold some of my late aunt's things that I was never going to use. Feeling good but very tired.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Thank you beanie and katykicker. I acted as tea lady for DD's toddler session in the village hall this morning. Not a lot to do as only five mums and their toddlers there today. I posted a pair of jeans I sold yesterday on fleabay for £1.95. So a little more to add.
beanie, Do you know if it is okay to do airbnb when on ESA-contributions based? Thinking I could get Mr P to do bed and breakfast as I know I can't manage it at all. DD does all our ironing and Mr P does all the washing. He isn't on any benefits.
