Some of you seem to think all "barns" are nice genteel wooden structures with giggling milkmaids in the hayloft. You need to get on a real farm... I can think of quite a few farmers who'd regard that wriggly tin structure as an aspirational goal.

I have been on some real farms and that is not a barn. You don't need inspection pits for storing hay. It might pass as a tractor shed.

I think the OP must be new to the internet if he's spat his dummy so easily.
How can someone be so sensitive

As a long time lurker (who got some amazing FTB advice through MSE though), I do reckon MSE has got a lot more professional yet less friendlier in the past few years.

Yes they have reacted a little abruptly, but they're a relatively new poster and we know nothing about them (other than they're dealing with a stressful house sale), yet most posts seem to have an undertone of aggression to them.
The 2 pages of sleuthing to find the property and then post not-very-well-hidden google clues when they've specifically said they don't want you too seems odd too.

It would certainly have made me react the same way in the end and never return to MSE.

When we rejected the offer, they wanted a second viewing!

Why not arrange the viewing (with yourself showing them around). The conveniently forget about it and be out when they arrive.

When people are viewing your house. They are highly unlikely to tell you what they really think to your face. At least on the faceless internet there's honest opinions and debate from which to formulate ones own views.

Ah yes, the EPC! I was wondering what the sq footage/meterage was ;) Blimey, it's 2/3 the size of our current house - and the same council tax band - but ours (being in a *less desirable* part of the country, lol!) is *worth* a fraction of what the OP hopes to achieve

Well, yes, that's the way property values work. As well as being about "desirability" it's about supply and demand. Here ,in one of the cheapest areas of the country according to averages from the "price comparison sites", bungalows (sq ft for sq ft) are currently selling for around twice as much as houses , and if they're even half way decent, they go like hot cakes.

Bungalows always sell well - large demand from older people wanting to downsize and lose the stairs, and restricted supply.

I would have thought that anyone who was serious about selling their house would want to advertise it. Once you find the advert anyone can look at it. There are going to be people who look at the online agents advert and know straight away where that house is so what is so different about people on MSE seeing it?

I don't know the area, but I had a look at properties for 1.5M in 'Buckinghamshire' (which granted is a large search radius) and you can get much much more for your money at that price point. Narrowing the search area to HP8, there's nothing directly comparable but if you add 12% to the asking price you can get double the house. My diagnosis, although it's based on minimal research, is that it's grossly overpriced. Sorry

I am no longer posting anything on MSE as clearly no one wants to answer my first posting, merely to sniff around property websites. I specifically refused repeated requests to post a link - perhaps you would respect people's preference not to do so.

In which post did you do this? I have to say I didn't see that and I read all the way through before typing this post.

Whilst you may be a upset that people are looking at the property online, you really should take an equal responsibility for the information you provided that allowed them to do so.

After the anger subsides, I hope you do return to utilise the site in a beneficial and helpful way.

It's not the end of the world.:)

If you don't want to hear what you don't like why post anything on the internet at all?

Do you want us all to say it's a great house, you should post at 16 mil???
