I'm so pleased you were awarded PIP. Did you make a claim for ESA in the end?
The decluttering appears to be going well, you wont want to go back to work after Easter!!!!0 -
Hi all and thanks for the replies. I'm so sorry it's taken time to catch up but things have been a bit mad.
I did apply for ESA but was told no so there we go. I'm back at work now, gradually easing my way in , so I will have something at the end of the month.
I had another exploritary op on Friday which I wanted to lead to a big one to cut the evil visitor out but due to its spread it's not viable. I was gutted and completely down on Friday but have now decided that it's time to stop messing around. I'm researching diet and other things full on. I don't I tend to let this get me and will do what needs to be done.
Anyway, other stuff. For the first time in along time my car is clean inside and out.:T It feels so good to be in it. Long may it last.
I've also been continuing with the decluttering. To be honest ive got rid of so much stuff, including some of Charlie's toys and clothes but i cant see a massive difference. Perhaps my eyes are just more open to what state it had become. I'm going to keep going for an hour a day and eventually I will reach a tipping point. It has become slightly easier to clean though.
I have realised vacuuming is my nemesis. I was wiping the bathroom walls and got big clumps of dust. If i vacuumed more often this wouldnt be an issue and everything would be cleaner. So more vacuuming has been done. I really do hate dragging big old Henry about though and keep looking at the cordless stick ones but I'm not sure if the are any good. Plus they are so expensive and would be a costly mistake if they were rubbish. Has anyone got one and have any feedback?
Today I'm going to hit the sewing/front room once again. It's such mess and it needs to be done once and for all. I cleared and cleaned the spare bedroom a few weeks ago. It took days due to the amount and me needing to take breaks but it looks much better now.
Lastly, money and debt. Don't go there. The debt has gotten bigger due to the illness but I will start hitting it again after payday. I can't do much at the moment so no point in worrying.
Anyway have a good day. Use it wisely and smile lots. Xxx1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

I've got a robot - but you do need to minimise clutter as they need clear space to get round and not get stuck. I find it a good incentive to keep things tidy. And I've got a slimline one which goes under the furniture. It was a bit of a shock when I first got it as to how much dirt it was picking up in a supposedly clean house...
I also have a handheld (Gtech, which also comes with a stick), as the robot isn't good at corners or any good for hoovering cobwebs!
There are a couple of threads around on the topic, so it might be worth a look - although people have wildly differing opinions! The top choices (from memory) seem to be Dyson, Shark or Gtech.
I'm sorry the investigation wasn't more positive. I hope that you find some alternatives.0 -
Good to see you back and getting on with life.
I love my Dys0n. I was especially lazy at hoovering before. The convenience of it means I spot clean all the time. It is light and effective. I still have my Mi3le for a deep clean although (ahem) I can't recall the last time I took it out. from under the stairs. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Hello Parsnip - good to 'see' you and well done on achieving so much
I have a Dy$0n and it's really light and easy to use. I have a V6 at the moment but am saving up for a newer version as I only have about 20 minutes battery life. The new versions have an hour or more. My V6 works well as long as I empty it often and clean the filter regularly. I have two filters so that I can use one whilst the other is washed and drying. The filters don't last for ever though so will need replacing at some point. The new models have different filters but they still need washing out. Replacements for these filters are much more expensive.
I have wooden floors and rugs and the V6 was fine until we got FDawg. He moults a lot so I need more battery power now.
If you buy from J0hn L£wi$ you get a two year guarantee which was really useful for us as we needed a replacement battery about 14 months after purchase. I don't think that's a common fault - we were just unlucky and got a machine with a faulty battery.
Hope this helps

Will I ever get back to posting regularly. I'm back at work which is ok but exhausting. I will be back on 4 days after half term but only for three weeks until the end of the college academic year.
I've been very focussed on decluttering recently. I can't see a massive difference but feel motivated to keep going. I will have a tidy, uncluttered home one day.
Next week we are going to be replacing the bathroom basin and kitchen sink unit as they are both broken. We will also be arranging the bay roof to be done. It's only taken over two years to get there.
Anyway time to carry throwing out. Wish me luck.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

If you're getting round to replacing the broken stuff, then that's massive progress. You must have cleared enough to feel you have the space and energy to do it.
Well done. And good luck

Thanks Greenbee.

It's good to see you posting again Parsnip.
I'm sorry that an operation isn't an option for you. Are you having different treatment instead?
I'm glad you've been able to get back to work, although I'm not surprised it's tiring you.
Well done on the de-cluttering :T. I'm obsessed with it too at the moment and although individual areas look better, the house still looks full of clutter to me. But I'm chipping away at it so I'm sure we'll both see a difference eventually if we keep going.
