Great progress: you will love that new sink. I'm still reeling at the thought of paying £149 for a tap!

I think you will find some good bargains for the rest of the house, especially if you like shabby chic. DD once had her room after the lines of the J@ck W!lls shop decor, using the nearest we could find to paint in their colours and treasures found at car boot sales. It was super.

I hope the roof can be done somewhat cheaper!

    Thanks both.

Cherryfudge, I do like shabby chic but everything I paint looks awful. I know my limitations.:rotfl:

The second quote came in HHOD. It's £450 so £145 cheaper but it's for a felt roof. The other was for fibreglass cement tile. I'm leaning towards the tile and DH towards the felt. I'd rather it done and not have to be looked at again which it no doubt will with the felt.

I've done loads of bits around the house today, including lots of clearing out. I've also been and ordered some new worktop for the kitchen so I can get the new sink in.

    I've never been so organised.

I'm looking forward to doing more tomorrow.

I expect it takes years of study to make things look properly shabby. :D Or half an hour with certain children.

Great to see you with your mojo back.

The tap and sink were total bargains. Well done.

I hope the roof works out. You'll feel so much better if you can get it done.

    Have a good weekend

Thanks DIA. I thought I would never catch you up with getting the bay roof fixed.

Ooh cherry, have you met my child.:rotfl:

I think it's for the best to pay a bit more. It's not really a massive amount.

A bit of a bitty day today. I managed to get the washing done and dryed but not a lot else.

Oh I did get paid. My first since sick pay stopped and it was such a relief. It's worn me out being back at work and it's going to be hard being back full time next week but not having money worries as much will make it worth while.

    Back tomorrow. X

......but I'm so far away from that it seems an impossible goal. Decluttering seems to have come to do a standstill and repairs are difficult with my dead, jelly hands. Yes, others could do it but I enjoy it and I'm frustrated with the lack of ability at the moment.

This morning has been irritating. I've burnt out my jigsaw and then had to buy a new one so this stupid kitchen unit, sink and surface can be fitted. I realised my card was missing when I went to pay but luckily I had cash. I was just about to declare it missing to the bank when I found it leading to a massive rant and .......

    I WANT TO BE STREAMLINED.

    And breathe.;):)

I'm going to continue with the sink goings on for a while then it a tidy/declutter day after.

I will never be a minimalist but I will get this place sorted.

Your persistence is amazing parsniphead- you still inspire me to declutter though I've done a lot less than you.
It must be tough not having your hands working properly. Will they strengthen over time or is it a case of finding new ways to do things? Anyone who can fit a sink has to be one of life's achievers, though (as well as saving a lot of money): I hope you can see progress today. Does it help to do before and after photos?

  • I think you're amazing being able to do plumbing Parsniphead :). I hope you manage to get some more de-cluttering done soon.
