Mine arrived today also and also doesn't have a contactless symbol. More annoying is the signature strip is impossible to sign in some areas.

I applied online for the card via our TSB current account and it opened a new window, filled in all details and was then refused.

I have never had any bank or credit card application turned down before so can only think where it asked for my usual current account where salary etc is paid in I put Santander as this is our normal current account thinking it would know I have a TSB current account to qualify for a card.

I think the application ignores the fact I applied via our TSB current account and treats me as anybody applying for a card and I should have therefore put our TSB current account and not Santander.

I have just tried reapplying and it won't accept another application for 30 days..

I didn't use my TSB current account details in the application and was accepted.
(It's not my main account and is only used for the interest and feeding the saver.)

Thanks for that LuSiVe, so must be something else they don't like in my application.

I gave a fairly high income, no mortgage, low essential living costs and only requested 2k credit as would be a second card to our Amex card.

Not sure what else I should check as never had anything refused before.

Could be a thin credit file, so whilst asset rich you have little credit transaction happenings though if you have an Amex and use it regularly this wouldn't seem likely.

Could be a simple decision that you won't be a profitable customer though I'm not and can't recall having been refused a card.

Just checked my credit rating through Noddle and have a high rating, no problems showing but can't see a TSB check in search history though.

Don't think Noddle is very comprehensive but it is free...

Guess I will just have to try again in 30 days, just p**s me off when there should be no reason to refuse me.

I wonder if applying in my local branch would give me a better chance of acceptance, or do they just do the same online like I have?

Whereas the total credit I have available is pushing twice my salary (<10% utilised though), and I've taken out 4 new credit cards this year so far ... damn those meerkats ;)

I've got to be pretty close to being refused now.....

If you spend £500 on it, that's only £5 per month surely?
The Halifax reward account, clarity card each give £5 per month - the first you just have to pass through 750, plus 2 direct debits a month, the second only £300 spending.
TSB classic gives you 5% on contactless spending up to £100 also anyway.
Don't you eventually run out of energy keeping them all going?
