I agree wholeheartedly. The thing that annoys me most about YouTube is how someVloggers claim that they are buying these products and trying them for me (the viewer) becuase it's their job! Sorry, no it is not your job! Surely vlogging is a hobby? Hearing them say "I just had to have this xxxx in my life!" is pretty tiresome. To be fair I only enjoy watching the panning community videos now.

I think the only ones who can use that excuse are the ones who are making money from their blog/channel and do actually swatch everything (someone like Temptalia). Having a passion for something shouldn't be an excuse to just go berserk. My passion is books, but I look at those booktubers who buy 20 books a week and just shove them on shelves full of 100s/1000s of unread books and I roll my eyes.

I don't think there is anything wrong with any of that. IMO the time someone should stop buying is when...

    1) They can't afford it.
    2) They have drawers full of products that have never been opened (and will probably never be used).
    3) They are regularly buying things that they end up not liking because it was bought on a whim.
    4) They are constantly having to throw things away that have gone off.

I see some of those people on YouTube who have drawers full of hundreds of unopened products and I think that is just daft even if they can afford it. But if someone uses everything they buy and they can afford it I don't see the problem. I am trying to work towards a capsule make-up collection, but that is because I find too much choice stressful. I also find that a lot of colours don't suit me because of my skin tone. I used to rush out and buy every new palette and then find that the colours never suited me as much as a simple smokey eye.

I don't do the smokey eye thing as it never ever looks right on me, I wear darkish perspex glasses and I always look like a goth! I tend to stick to brighter shades (not neon though!) or the lighter nudes for daytime and darker colours/nudes for night, I only use eyeliner to flick at the sides of my eyes to make me look doe-eyed, wearing glasses I generally go heavy on the eye make-up because once I've got glasses on it looks good (but terrible without!).

I agree on the amount of stuff, I have a strict opened vs unopened policy, I don't have more than a couple of each type of item (or as much as I will use soon) open at any time, nothing goes off in my stash, I may be a hoarder but I'm not one to waste!

As for make-up, the only thing I'm strict about is mascara, I have 2 open at any one time, no more.

    UU's
    38) Étude house tea tree sheet mask WNBA not as "wet" as other sheet masks and dried out after 15 minutes.

    39) lush Easter bunny bath bomb WNBA small bath bomb, one colour and quickly fizzed leaving a yellow bath.

    40) Epson salt WBA have another in stash and finally am getting round to using it.

    41) hydraluron WNBA I did once like this but now use a different product that is cheaper and last longer but still contains 4 types hyraluonic acid and works for me.

    42) pixie glow sample bottle WNBA I don't see what all the hype is. I bought full size last year and still did not get it so used this sample bottle on holiday.

I do this too, and I also note what was 'in' first so I can use things up roughly in the order they were bought. That way nothing goes off.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having a stash :rotfl:

    2 little UU to report:

Lush go faster feet foot lotion sample- WBA as full size. Love the scent of this and it sinks in really easily.

Lush eau Roma toner water sample- WBA as full size when finished the toners I already have stashed. This did the job well and smelled pleasant.

I love Temptalia blog. The problem with YouTube is that it has become another vehicle for advertising with companies sponsoring and collaborating with YouTubers. The Vlogger then becomes their own creator of misfortune with their followers screaming that they have sold out. Hence why I prefer the panning community cos in the main it's ordinary folks giving honest reviews.

Haven't heard of book tubers and don't want to go there. Have recently rediscovered my passion for reading but quite content to buy a new book each time one is finished. Am reading The Lake House at the mo.

I try to use products in order too. I don't think there's anything wrong in having a stash too and am glad that there are certain product categories that I don't need to replace on a monthly basis.

I had a wake up call recently when I started to inventory make up for the inventory thread as I counted all eyeshadows I own as singles. Now I consider my palette collection as minimal compared to my daughter and YouTubers. I own Benefit Naturals kit, Lorac Pro Matte (travel palette), Smashbox Full Exposure, Urban Decay Naked, Tge Balm Nudetude and a Tarte one (not the newest one as I didn't have this when I totalled up. This one is part of a Holiday kit Emma bought). When added up I own in total 80 eyeshadows! But those palettes seem so irresistible don't they?

I'm concentrating solely on skincare, body etc just now and not started on make up. Stopped buying it but not actively trying to UU. I think I may have a similar eyeshadow issue to yourself though. I love a good palette!

Sam, would you mind sharing what the Hydraluron replacement is, I am coming towards the end of my tube and WBA as it really plumps up my face, but would quite like to try something cheaper.

the pixie glow tonic works well on me, that or the first aid beauty pads, not too strong on my aged visage:D, but I rarely have to exfoliate with any specific products.
