No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries June 2016

2 used up in my bath tonight:
Bomb cosmetics turquoise bath gem- WMBA nice enough but I'm pretty sure it was this one that released a ton of seeds into my bath which I wasn't keen on. Would buy again if I bought the gift set that it came in again.
Bomb cosmetics first love bath mallow - WBA this one looks really pretty and turns the water a pale blue colour. Smells lovely. I just wish the scent was a little stronger in the water as although I could smell it when I got out I couldn't smell it in the water itself that much. Lush bath bombs seem to be a lot stronger scent wise in comparison. Still nice though and I love how moisturising bath mallows are.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

Thanks for all your replies!I'm the same with Make up I really enjoy buying and using it and love having a choice of what to use each day (especially with eye shadow). I have spent an awful lot recently so need to try and cut down. Make up buying seems to give me a lot of joy at the moment, I don't get the same kick from toiletries and skin care. In fact I'm only buying what I need in those area's now as now have a general idea what works for me and what doesn't and have realized its not worth trying new things now as probably already using the things that are best for me.I don't think there is anything wrong with any of that. IMO the time someone should stop buying is when...
1) They can't afford it.
2) They have drawers full of products that have never been opened (and will probably never be used).
3) They are regularly buying things that they end up not liking because it was bought on a whim.
4) They are constantly having to throw things away that have gone off.
I see some of those people on YouTube who have drawers full of hundreds of unopened products and I think that is just daft even if they can afford it. But if someone uses everything they buy and they can afford it I don't see the problem. I am trying to work towards a capsule make-up collection, but that is because I find too much choice stressful. I also find that a lot of colours don't suit me because of my skin tone. I used to rush out and buy every new palette and then find that the colours never suited me as much as a simple smokey eye.On the subject of spending I think that the point of this challenge is to take stock of what you have and shop your stash rather than heading to the shops. I know how people feel when they say that the buying gives them pleasure and I certainly have months (this one in particular) where I feel like treating myself/Emma (yes, I do it vicariously too) however I do try to look for the best deals for items and do consider seriously before purchasing.
I am loving the Tarte pallette Deleted_User. I have actually bought a Princess Park Avenue bronzer from someone on FB this morning because I know that palette will be taken by Emma when she leaves. I haven't used any of the other items as Emma is using them and I'm not sure if I mentioned it but I sold the lipstick on FB as I won't wear it and don't need another lipstick.
I tried the lipstick as I don't really own any but I'm not too sure it's for me. I should have trusted my gut and sold it but the TSV was such good value regardless and I might try and sheer it out a bit with some lipbalm.
Oh and thanks for the MUG recommendations. Mai Tai in particular is beautiful!!
Overall, I think I will keep counting INs and Outs with makeup at the moment and hopefully become stricter with other toiletries so that when I do buy some makeup it doesn't affect the stash total too much. I also will be asking for makeup for my birthday next month and possibly something from the Body Shop British Rose range as I have been steadfastly resisting that since the day it came out!
I have also decided on a little bit of a 'cheat'! I'm buying an empty palette to make my own with single pans and decided to go for the large palette rather than the small. I plan to fill it gradually which means I can have the odd treat here and there with a new eyeshadow pan because I only need to count it as one palette on my spreadsheet! I know it's cheating a little bit!
I love hearing how in depth everyone's spreadsheets are! Puts my one to shame!
And I wouldn't like to count all my palette eyeshadows individually. It must be over 400!
Thanks for all the replies! It's been very interesting and pointed out again what a lovely board this is0 -
Forgot my UUs!
7. Ikea Vanilla candle. WDBA. Have more in stash. Burnt cleanly, smells lovely.
8. NSpa Patchouli and Ylang Ylang candle. WDBA but I think it's been discontinued unfortunately. I have one more left. This smells gorgeous and has burnt down so neatly I think there's only a millimetre of wax left at the bottom.
I've also GA five foundations. Over the last week I've pulled these out of the drawer and tried them all out again and they are either the wrong colour or not right for my skin type. I'm passing them on to my SIL and sister before they go off.
Still looking for a good foundation. Has anyone used the No7 ones? I've been reading/watching some very good reviews and I like the idea that they match your colour.:)0 -
What's really annoying is when you find the HG foundation and the whole brand closes. Pines for Prescriptives Blue-Red Porceliane all over again. Everything else is always just a bit too orange or yellow:( Even when you ask the counter lady for the vampire shades.0

I am a rep so I'm biased but have you tried Avon? You can return it even if you've used it so it's brilliant if you're not sure what shade you are.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

It's been a slow month for me. I have several items which are using up but it'll be a while yet until they are totally finished. I've had a few ins of things I don't need - a bottle of Dove Colour Conditioner (at least the one currently in use is almost used up) and a couple of sheet masks from Savers. I have a couple of bottles of conditioner with 2-3 uses left and a night cream I've hit pan on and am just using product from the sides of the pot. I hope these almost finished products will stack up as empties soon.
UU
Sanctuary Spa Cleansing Burst Body Wash 75ml - This lasted me almost a couple of weeks so it lasted a good amount of time for such a small amount of product. I liked the scent but shower gel is shower gel as far as I'm concerned. This was part of a Christmas present and I enjoyed using it but probably wouldn't reach for it myself.
I've replaced this with a mini Ted Baker body wash and in the next week, I'll see if I can look out any more shower gel minis. I have so much shower gel that I'm really just trying to use up the minis first. Another goal for the weekend is to fill another toiletry bag with a few items to keep at work like hand cream, lip balm, a perfume, a lip gloss etc. It would mean not having to cart around lots of different makeup bits (I always have tonnes in my bag because new ones seem to get added a lot to various handbags) and will hopefully result in products getting used up quicker. No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2019 Total UU since 2016 - 396 | Total February UU - 10 -
Deleted_User - I succumbed and bought the British rose eau de toilette a couple of months ago and I was disappointed with it. I'd heard people say it was more of a Turkish delight smell a really rich sweet decadent rose but it just smells like bog standard rose scent to me and not much different to their atlas mountain rose which I also have. I'd expected to love it and was a bit meh about it. You might love it so go and have a smell first (I ordered online) but personally I was disappointed enough that I won't be bothering buying the body butter or anything. I love the new pinita colada range though - smells exactly as you'd expect it's very fruity and summery!!No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

A UU this morning:
Avon be...kissable body mist 100ml- WNBA didn't like the smell that much. It was fine just not something I loved but it did the job for my sleep ins at work and lasted quite a while. Got tons of sprays/mists in stash so will choose something to replace this.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

Something to bare in mind re: QVC is that their demographic is an older audience so they tend to play safe with colours in the TSV kits. After years of shopping with them I have accumulated similar colours that I don't wear very often so guessed this lipstick would have been alone the same lines.
Glad you like the MUG colours. I was shown them but not allowed to touch!!Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
