Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Deleted_User I can agree with you. I enjoy my products and bullying them. I have no debts and am not a big spender on anything else apart from holidays. I use product especially lush as a wind down from the stresses of work. I will always have some collection and want to have a choice of what I use.

    UU's
    33) PDF sheet mask WBA

    34) Lador hair filler ampoule WBA leaves my hair very silky and hydrated.

    35) Lush green bubbleroon WNBA I don't really like the bubbleroons this was from the Boxing Day sale of 2014.

    36) Lush shoot for the stars bath bomb WBA one of my favourites and a great show in the bath.

    37) Pantene BB cream for hair WNBA I liked it when I first bought it but it seemed to leave my hair coated in a funny coating so am pleased to see the back of it. Another sales bargain bought for 75p so no great loss.

UU The NBI £10 Simon & Tom foot cream WNB. It wasn't worth £10 for 50ml, also the very elegant presentation didn't work.

It is a jar with a pump but after the first fifth of the jar is used the pump can't reach the rest of the contents. So you have to unscrew the lid and use it as a standard jar.
A very ordinary menthol and tea tree foot cream, really, when all was said and done.
On to the manuka honey foot cream now before the Aldi Lacura, although the Lacura is probably the better of the two.

However the Manuka Doctor foot cream cost over ten times as much - or would have done if it wasn't an NBI - so under PRCP it's being used up first.
I have resisted temptation for the rest of this week. A body cream is on offer as an NBI but I tend to use lotions and oils on my body in summer, and keep the creams for winter.

I'm really struggling not to binge buy makeup at the moment. I feel like I've tamed the toiletry side for the most part but I genuinely miss treating myself to makeup more often. Buying some this week has cemented that for me. I was so happy to have new stuff to experiment with. Also, I lost almost two stone last year and have put back on half a stone and, this might sound strange but it's true, when I'm out shopping I end up buying food instead of going into Superdrug. Popping to Superdrug and spending £10-20 every now and again was a nice treat or pick me up for me and now I'm turning back to food and, seeing as that could affect my health, that's worse than buying make up in the long term particularly as I've had high cholesterol in the past and have ongoing joint problems. So I'm considering stopping counting ins and outs for make up - only on makeup, not any toiletries or candles. I'm not certain yet. There are very few other 'frivolous' areas in life I spend lots of money on. I don't buy loads of clothes, I don't go out drinking, I don't go on lots of fancy holidays. I don't have any collections or anything like that. I just feel like I'm creating an opportunity to make myself feel guilty by telling myself I shouldn't be buying something that makes me happy and that doesn't seem healthy to me.

Sorry for the long post but this seemed the most appropriate place to air my thoughts on this! I'd be interested to see what other people think. I'm not saying I want to abandon the challenge and I know some people don't even count their make up for this. I also think, more so than toiletries, it's important for me to have variety with makeup and I don't want to lose that.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! :)

Stay happy. The key word is unnecessary, and make up supposedly has a short life once open, I pay no attention to this personally (rarely use eye make up and the rest of me can take its chance) but it makes good sense to change it regularly if you do use it a lot.
How your daily face looks is very important to you and having choice in make up is key to that. Yours is necessary.

If I bought a skin cream at the moment it would be extremely unnecessary, I've got so many NBIs, ditto shampoo and conditioner.

I bought a shower gel this week, as mentioned. I didn't like it quite as much as I'd hoped so perhaps I will justify buying another one that I know I will really like if I see it. Seems reasonable to me.

    Eek, time for bed.. .

Deleted_User - you have to do what is right for you.

And - bet you're glad you didn't spend your own money on that foot cream.

    I have some uu's

No7 Nail & Cuticle Care - WBA and already have others in the stash.

Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean - WNBA, the packaging is a pain, the product is too thick for a pump and should be in a tube.

Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil 7.5ml - WNBA

Garnier Sauna Mask sachet - WNBA

VALM - how is your 7 by summer going - I'm struggling on but makeup just lasts forever?

I'm the same with Make up I really enjoy buying and using it and love having a choice of what to use each day (especially with eye shadow). I have spent an awful lot recently so need to try and cut down. Make up buying seems to give me a lot of joy at the moment, I don't get the same kick from toiletries and skin care. In fact I'm only buying what I need in those area's now as now have a general idea what works for me and what doesn't and have realized its not worth trying new things now as probably already using the things that are best for me.

I don't think there is anything wrong with any of that. IMO the time someone should stop buying is when...

    1) They can't afford it.
    2) They have drawers full of products that have never been opened (and will probably never be used).
    3) They are regularly buying things that they end up not liking because it was bought on a whim.
    4) They are constantly having to throw things away that have gone off.

I see some of those people on YouTube who have drawers full of hundreds of unopened products and I think that is just daft even if they can afford it. But if someone uses everything they buy and they can afford it I don't see the problem. I am trying to work towards a capsule make-up collection, but that is because I find too much choice stressful. I also find that a lot of colours don't suit me because of my skin tone. I used to rush out and buy every new palette and then find that the colours never suited me as much as a simple smokey eye.

dolly84 From my 7 by Summer Challenge I have finished a Laura Geller Eyeliner, Laura Geller Bronze n Brighten, Smashbox Illume Lipgloss and have TA a bottle of Elemis Evening Blooms oil.

I have left : Benefit Boing Concealer, Benefit Lemon Aid and OPI minis which I suppose are ongoing.

The concealers are taking forever to use up even though there is sizeable pan in the Lemon Aid pot.

On the subject of spending I think that the point of this challenge is to take stock of what you have and shop your stash rather than heading to the shops. I know how people feel when they say that the buying gives them pleasure and I certainly have months (this one in particular) where I feel like treating myself/Emma (yes, I do it vicariously too) however I do try to look for the best deals for items and do consider seriously before purchasing.

I am loving the Tarte pallette Deleted_User. I have actually bought a Princess Park Avenue bronzer from someone on FB this morning because I know that palette will be taken by Emma when she leaves. I haven't used any of the other items as Emma is using them and I'm not sure if I mentioned it but I sold the lipstick on FB as I won't wear it and don't need another lipstick.

I agree wholeheartedly. The thing that annoys me most about YouTube is how someVloggers claim that they are buying these products and trying them for me (the viewer) becuase it's their job! Sorry, no it is not your job! Surely vlogging is a hobby? Hearing them say "I just had to have this xxxx in my life!" is pretty tiresome. To be fair I only enjoy watching the panning community videos now.

Vegan/Cruelty Free beauty addicts - can any you recommend a good mascara please? I don't mind paying a good amount if it's going to last and work well. I've tried the one from B but I don't find it much use.

Urban Decay and charlotte tilbury are good but I'm not sure if they vegan as well as CF.

I agree, i like having a bit of choice and i don't smoke and don't go out drinking every weekend so this is what i like to spend my money on. my skin tone is quite pale too so lots of palettes and trends don't suit me and i am learning to be much more selective in what i do buy and resist the new hyped thing if i know it just won't suit me.

    UU:
Seche vite mini top coats - WMBA but i can't see why this is so hyped!
Join body scrub - WNBA, i think its crazy to pay money for sugar/salt, oil and essential oils when i could make vats of the stuff for little money at all!
Mac Zoom fast mascara - WNBA, far too clumpy and the brush is awful!
Turbliss peat mask - WNBA, this gave me spots.
Benefit eye bright - WNBA, i prefer the charlotte tilbury now. still have a full size to get through though as when i loved this i stockpiled them when it was free with Glamour, thank god this is the last one!
Dove shampoo and conditioner - WNBA, this has SLS in.
