Afternoon everyone! hope you are all having a good day. Had a good day so far - i went to bed last night feeling dreadful and sure i was going to be ill today but i woke up feeling much better. Have washed all the school uniforms and just got them in off the line (will do the ironing tomorrow - i HATE ironing!) BM is on and the smell is gorgeous. Have made a victoria sponge cake to have this afternoon with a cup of tea whilst sitting with DS2 while we watch the football. Also made some flapjacks and some chocolate brownies which are cooling down in the kitchen as i type! DH and DS1 have gone fishing and DD has taken her friends out for a drive so i have the house to myself. BLISS! dinner will be baked potatoes and salad and i have a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge.
Hugs to all that need it!0 -
Hi everyone, back again. Yesterday my friend was here when the window cleaner came, so I paid for her windows, she came by with the money this morning............
Just had our lunch, HM bread and a small amount of cheese, sliced pears and yogurt. Have the yogurt maker on and also the pressure cooker with tomorrows beef casserole.....I like to leave it in the fridge for 24 hours to 'mature' before we eat it.
OH has just gone for his game of bowls and I have washed my tiny kitchen floor.....when the casserole has finished I am going through to do some sewing, want to get some of my friends birthday present done.
The weather is very dull, its much cooler today, it was very warm last night, we went to sleep with the sheet only, ended up pulling the duvet up at 6.30am I was freezing...............September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Hello everyone,
Havnt read the thread yet, so ((HUGS)) to everyone.
Well, a very happy day today - We were up early as DSs team had their second league match, which they won 6 - 0, so we think they will be top of the table after last weeks 13 - 0 victory!!! The weather is beautiful, and a bottle of wine that i won a few months ago, finally arrived today.
But, the thing im happiest about, is along with the wine, i also had another delivery. I have won an Nintendo Wii!!!! I cannot believe it, my luck must be changing!!! Ive been really worried about money recently, the Lo ive been looking after has started school, so my money has gone down BIG time, and although i have enough for my bills, and food (no treats tho) i dont have anything left over to put towards christmas, so this really is a major blessing. Even if i cant afford much else, we will now have something special.
Ive also found out, that i might qualify for a full grant if i want to start an OU degree, so im going to find out about that on Monday, so fingers crossed there.
Right, im off to enjoy some sunshine,
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Catowen,
I recently also won a Nintendo Wii, and didn't really need it, so I sold it last week on E-Bay as I was short of cash and sold it for £155 excluding postage. I thought I would let you know, if you rather have the cash than the console.

Hi all
Penpen - I think those photos looked scrummy...I'll be round for a coffee later!
Had a busy morning, but now have 4 x Cottage pie + 8 x portions of Meatballs (to be served over pasta) packed up and in the freezer.:T Have also blitzed the kitchen afterwards, and done some washing.
This afternoon I have to pop up to the chemist to pick up a prescription, and then will swing past Asda - need to pick up a few essentials, and Saturday evening is a good time for price reductions, so will see what we might be able to pick up there, as well! Dinner tonight I think will be a tortilla - have some eggs which need using up, and have a glut of potatoes, plus various other bits in the fridge...
Well done, Catowen, on the Wii - I remember reading a while back that you really hoped you would win one... I hope this is a sign that your luck is now picking up!:D
Good luck to all fellow Frogga's challengers - my loss this week was a measly ½lb, but have had a hard week and am finding it difficult to lose weight as at the moment I can't exercise, and am on a silly restricted diet which limits fruit and veg to practically nothing, while pushing refined carbs, butter and cheese(!) . Only for another 4-6 weeks though, as then I am having another op which will allow me to go back to "normal". I am so looking forward to that - I am craving vegetables at the moment!! Still, must try harder, as I saw another doctor this week, who will be dealing with the next part of my treatment, and he (very tactfully...:p) suggested that if I could lose some weight in the next 6-8 weeks, it would greatly benefit the next part of my treatment, so...
Anyway, apologies for that little moan! I'm off to catch the chemist before they shut. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Saturday!

Hi there Piglet
well done:T .....1/2lb is still a loss - just take a look at a pack of butter and thats what you have lost:T ... this dieting malarky is difficult enough and on top of that you have to restrict the food stuffs that us dieter usually rely on... so i think you have done a bl**dy good job.:j :j-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hello All!
Went out early this morning to Lakeside to the Asda Living Store as they have a big clothes selection to get some things for DD - but they didnt have much in her size! so no luck there! Also noticed next door was an M&S outlet store - had a quick look in there and DH got some t-shirts & couple of shirts some real bargains!!! I didnt look at the ladies section, will like to go back on my own for that!!
Then kids wanted to go into the ikea playcentre again:rotfl: then had something to eat there (v.nice roast pepper lasagne) and then let the kids look round Toys R Us!!! I think we must have spent an hour in there looking at all the stuff!!:rotfl: DS was full of "WoW look at that!, and look at this"!!!!!:rotfl: kids heaven eh?!!!
Quick pop on here to see what youre all up to before I go off to do some ironing! (whoopee:rolleyes: )

Morning
For the observant ones amongst you it is now 18.30 or later by the time this gets posted but I assure you my old (style) friends that I did post a whole few chapters on my life earlier this morning then for some reason the site went down and there it wasnt:mad:
Anyway the summary of my post was that I havent posted for a while due to real life getting the way - wish it would stop doing that
I have had a burst of energy around the house and am now a proud owner of a feature wall (OK i know it took a while :embarasse: ) Also I have been working from home quite a bit coaching so have had plenty of time listening to peoples problems whilst looking round the office realising how disorganised it is. Anyway on impulse I took my last call last night and rushed round to Ikea to buy the ever famous and ever reliable Billy bookcase:j (Ikea fans will know the one) Anyway its at the point of getting it in the trolley and consequently the car that I wish I wasnt quite so impulsive and quite so insistent on being independant - it was sooooo heavy and only just fitted in my car. So my trip back from Ikea was interesting to say the least with Billy the bookcase lying over my gear stick and resulting in me having to drive all the way home in first gear:eek: good job its only a mile or so.
Built Billy this morning and I have to say I am really pleased with the way the office seems so much less cluttered now - but in future I will ask for help my back knows about lifting Billy last night:D So tru any chance of some help:D
Tomorrow I am hosting a fairly big lunch with some friends so have bought out Tesco today in anticipation (its defo cheaper to take people out)
Anyway I wasnt going to bother posting again today cos its soooo annoying when you lose one but I have a message for you all.
Bargain Rzl just texted me and is at the last night of the proms. Dead Centre second row so if your watching give her a flag wave:j :j (shes the gorgeous one with Brad pitt on her arm-or at least standing near her!!)
Will check in again tomorrow if mse deems it ok:rotfl:
Hugs
