Sorry for not checking in yesterday - couldn't get on-line when I tried at 10.30 pm. Another 68 items left the house yesterday.

Can't remember what I did - mostly small things like taking an old rawl plug out of a wall and taking down old screw fittings. Up ladders and tiring but necessary.

Today will be spendy - need more paint, curtains, led light bulbs and probably going to be naughty. I could kill for a bacon butty and several shops will be providing them atm. Will try not to spend a lot.

Yesterday more snags were encountered, mostly defeated (new arrangement gets rid of the outside pipe that needs fixing regularly and means me having to go up once a month to hammer a rubber plug back in place - won't miss that job) but also something that I should have said something about sooner that means more work and money now but will save me lots of time in future (tricky annual maintenance job). Said I would take the blame as Mr and Mrs Builder were blaming each other.

Feeling guilty about extra work, especially as Mr Builder's back is playing up, but it needs to be how I want it. I had already compromised on something earlier - wrong tap sent so I will have a shower attachment on the bath tap as well as the actual shower. They would have taken it back but that would have been more time and I thought it would be handy for cleaning.

Think I have reached the point where it seems to have gone on forever and everywhere is a mess, a bit tired and achy (not good at the start of the day, laminate man is still in the wind (couldn't start atm as the builders are using the big room to cut the large 8' x 4' panels) and the roofer phoned at 6.45 pm last night to say he was still stuck on a job (coming Saturday am to give me a quote). Not had a bath since first thing Monday and my hair is dreadful.

Plans for the weekend are to move as much as possible into the big room (already re-located the extra quilts and pillows) and paint my room and the remainder of the big room (touching up including the rawl plug holes) and the stairs (wall from big room goes from ceiling height all down the stairs - top part done but need to do lower part where it is 2 rooms deep and under and around the stair rail.

Plan for today is purposeful pottering I think and getting as much of the spending done in one go. May go for fridge tonight as they are open late, probably come next week.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Good morning and happy Friday turtles.

2 NSD’s in a row, going for a third today. I’ll check my bank and YNAB in a bit, I believe all will be in order.

I need to batch cook some stuff and fire it in the fridge/freezer. Looking for ideas if anybody has something simple, cheap and healthy?

Mothernerd - just to respond to your comment re teaching. Yes, you do choose either primary or secondary when you do your training. I work in a through school, that goes from nursey to A level, which is why the possibility of reaching tiny ones has arisen.

Anything with mince lends itself well to a good batch cook. Ypu could make up a load of spag bol type mixture and then freeze that for chillis and spag bols, shepards pies, lasagne etc

Today frog eaten, well went and got passport photos done so hopefully get my passport sent off over the weekend.

Happier today got physio appt Monday as I have been struggling last few nights in pain.

Yesterday I cleaned out all my kitchen cupboards washed everything hadn't used in ages, threw glasses and plates out, charity shops refuse them around here. Oh only cupboard didn't get around to was under sink one - another world in there. I can find everything now, did an Aldee food shop after. Did a walk after with friend and whether overdone it but muscles went so tight, squealed all the way home.

Today would have been Sfd but passport pic needed.

Still waiting on decorater to make an appearance probably eloped with Mothernerds Laminate guy. Getting used to hole in the ceiling now.

SpekySquarehead I batch cook vegetable lasagne not a veggie but love it.

As been a busy week got a steak for tonight a little treat and have a wee drink. Have a chilled out evening folks.

Many thanks for the well wishes.:)

TOG...well done on the £2 fringe trim! I have tried o do my own but I end up looking like my 2 year old granddaughter has hacked at it!:rotfl:
mothernerd...please slow down. You will wear yourself out!:A

I feel much better today. I sat in the garden whilst my granddaughter played, and I managed to read for a while. I certainly am enjoying taking things easy!:)

A SFD again for me so I think that's 5 so far...I must check.
I'm using absolutely everything left in my fridge and cupboards today.
Baked potato, tuna mayo and salad. It's the second time this week but, hay ho.:D
I'm running very low and can't wait for my sister to return next week. I didn't realise how much I relied on the free food I receive.:A

I'm throwing every extra penny at my debt and really want it gone so that I can then put my next plan for my future in place.:)

Really looking forward to this weekend as I finally feel strong and well enough to tackle a few frogs!:D

    Hi everyone :D
Sorry so quiet at the moment. I am honestly so busy I barely have time to get on here at all at the moment. I'm making a real effort to check in now and again though because all work and no play will not only make me a dull girl but it will also burn me out. I'm 25% of the way through the marking for now, with another load starting up in a couple of weeks. I'm not doing any more marking tonight but planning to spend a lot of time on it over the weekend when I'm more alert and up for it all. I keep focussing on the money.
I have been reading, just not managing to find the time to properly check in - hope everyone is doing ok. I seem to have spent the week eating various frogs among other things. It is nice to see things progressing though.
NSD today, but I have done an online grocery shop to top up and time save so I don't have to go out tomorrow and do it. I'll count it tomorrow once it actually arrives, because I'm out tomorrow night which will no doubt be a really spendy evening. Other than that I'm mid way through running round after kids clubs then I'm planning some crochet and an early night.
I will check in over the weekend when I get time to sit down and review my finances and the month's plans and challenges.

Evening all. Finally have a chance to read up and digest all the news - life is just so busy!

Ate another monster frog today and tackled the playroom-of-doom. Two carrier bags of broken or naff toys in the bin and a sack of good stuff to pass on to my brother as he and his GF are expecting a baby in September.

A NSD for me as I only left the house to do the school runs. Not sure how [STRIKE]few[/STRIKE] many that makes.
