Workplace attraction - advice needed

Could you not meet someone outside of your work place?.
It would be less complicated and is this lady single?.
The person who made the phrase never mix business with pleasure obviously knew what they were talking about, and it is good advice.
Ideally, meeting someone outside with similar interests would be perfect. However, it has been difficult because my hobbies/interests don’t involve meeting women. I have tried online dating and the club/bar scene is not really my thing.
I have no idea if she is single or not. I think I mentioned in my original post, I would not consider dating someone from the same workplace but I find myself attracted to this woman (and have been for a while). The advice on this thread from both sides has been insightful and really helped a lot.0 -
Have you asked her out yet?0

I was asked out years ago by someone who was lovely but not my type and I had to say no.
Then I was asked out again casually after we used to chat and I said yes, its coming up our 19th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks.
You dont know if you dont ask.0 -

I work with my fiance. Didn't meet through work, we were an item before we were colleagues. Never really intended to work in the same department, just the same company, but we do (even in the same team at one point). We've been together for six years, engaged for nearly three, and it's coming up to three years that we've been colleagues.Could you not meet someone outside of your work place?.

There have been at least 6 other couples either formed at work or formed before, like us, in the 4 years I've been there. Not all working in the same department together, but some are. It can definitely work.
So why not mix business with pleasure?
(also helpful and money-saving for us as we only need one car:rotfl:)
Edit - would like to add that one of the couples at my place of work got married and have two grown up kids nowMortgage started 2015: £150,000 2016: £130,000 2017: £116,000 2018: £105,000 2019: £88,000 2020: £69,000 2021: £51,195 2023: MORTGAGE FREE!0 -
