The EU: IN or OUT?

Presumably you feel that way because you are strongly in favour of remaining.
I have already voted OUT postally.
I don't feel strongly, it's more a leaning towards OUT.
It's like you would like a divorce, but the hassle puts you off.
There needs to be a significant Con (vs Pro ) factor to make you actually do it: not just because she farts in the car, and in bed, and at the dinner table. You could argue the absolute opposite if you were strongly in favour of leaving in the case of a 51/49% vote in favour of remaining. There has to be rules and those are the rules.
By the way... I don't wish to wind you up ... but it isn't 51/49% ... ie tens or hundreds of thousands of votes that decide ........it is in fact 50% plus one single vote.
I think you'll find there are various degrees of unanimity depending on the issue to be decided.
For a start, there is usually a requirement for the vote to be quorate, i.e. enough people have to vote.
Europe itself has votes that need to be unanimous.
A cricket club could have it in the constitution for 60% majority for some issues.
I could have typed 50.00001% vs 49.99999%, but 51:49 says what I meant clearly enough.0 -
An important point is being overlooked.
Europe has porous borders within.
But UK already has border controls. No one can enter without a passport. Except, EU subjects need only a passport or ID card and no entry visa. On BREXIT, It will not take too much effort to get our border agencies to check for visa as well. For those very few who might not know, visa is an entry stamp in the passport given by the country being visited.0 -
A world without border restrictions is a world I want to see.
Borders are now a waste of space, and expense, as evidenced by a million or more a year simply ignoring them, and walking in to other countries. Brexit or Bremain, that will not change..._
Why on earth would someone stay in a hell hole racked by war, corruption, disease and lack of infrastructure when they could migrate to rich nations such as the UK? Blighty would sink under the weight of the migrants.0 -
What a messy business this campaign has been. So much feeling and yet so few facts. Won't it be great when it is all over lol0

I've followed the arguments closely and, sadly, I don't believe a word that anybody on either side tells me and I certainly would never believe a forecast from any economist based on their past efforts! I'm left with deciding how to vote based on what I do know to be true which is precious little! However, I do know that the European Court is the supreme authority and I do know that we are powerless to limit immigration while we are in the EU (although I suspect there will be plenty of illegal immigrants who can find there way into the UK even if we leave). I also know that many countries within the EU are in a terrible economic state and I can't see any hope of things improving while they are all tied to the Euro. Therefore I will be voting to leave but without any great confidence although I have always felt - and still feel - that the majority will vote to remain within the EU.0

that the majority will vote to remain within the EU
Because majority is worried if their house price falls
While they don't really care if such things puts their kids ever owning a house in the long run.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

I cant honestly beleive some of the crap thats gone on.
If we stay in i dont think i will ever vote in an election again as there is no point,we will be run from brussels with just a token government full of bright ideas with no power to do anything, sort of like the vichy french government during the war,i cant remember signing up for any of this?
Europes !!!!!es thats us in the uk if we stay, weve become a pussified nation in about sixty years.0 -
I actually think that no-one really knows what will happen. The world will not end. The sun will rise and we will cope in the long run what ever way it goes. They can make guess's and assumptions but unless they have a crystal ball?
I was talking with someone the other day about the vote and as they said if the vote was not to stay in or leave put to join how would you vote. My answer bearing mind the state of the EU at the moment was no. The issue is that leaving may cause so much upheaval and take so long is it worth it ?
Who knows but either way just wish we could stop talking and start dealing with what ever the implications are.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
Its just reinforced my opinion that all politicians at all levels are totally full of bull s***.

Have to use that sorry but completely agree fed up that as British people we are frightened to say what we think." pussified "
The BJV dictionary - pussified - When a country has no spine - Too polite to be assertive to frightened to upset anyone and thus the fear means putting our own interests last .Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0
