There are several other sites including 'Which' where there is a plethora of problem tales about this company. EE cannot even set up the DD on your account till 2 months after supply has already started. Accounts dept cannot accurately multiply two numbers together and have never used accurate meter readings -always 100 or more units higher, despite monthly readings. Do beware Sterling - I hope you are a strong character because the 1.5 year battle with this company has made me ill.... and I have been proven in the right Their telephone is not answered -nor emails...so you cannot get hold of them to deal with anything.0

Thank you. I am beginning to wonder )-: I had difficulty finding the company number on their website but found it eventually in the terms and conditions. It is Economy Energy Trading Limited (07513319). The accounts for year ending March 2017 seem satisfactory. My only exposure would be in periods where my cumulative direct debit payments are greater than usage. It is not a pretty picture based on published reports, is it? I will sit back and see how matters progress but exercise due caution.
Meanwhile, MSE seems happy enough in promoting this operation.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0 -
I have just switched from Economy Energy to Bulb via the Cheap Energy Club and that went very smoothly. The problem is EE have closed my account so I don't have access to it anymore yet they are demanding that I pay my final gas bill without having received any billing for it. They gave me a link to pay the bill but that doesn't work either. I have phoned them several times to no avail. I have tried texting to no avail. I have emailed them twice with only an acknowledgement that they have received it. I know my electricity account is in credit but they haven't mentioned that. Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve these issues. I would gladly pay my bills but surely they must send me a copy of the final bills before paying them.0

Whatever you do please don’t sign up with Economy Energy.
I am an ex-customer (Gas & Electricity) who suffered for a year due to the incompetence of this company. You cannot view you monthly usage on their web site and when you call Customer Service they are atrocious and don’t know what they are doing, they promise to call back but don’t. I email to the Managing Director on a number of occasions, nothing was done to resolve my issues. Right up until the last day when I left Economy Energy I could not see my monthly statements for my gas and electricity online.0 -
again sympathies -HiHopes/Peter DG -i have had to deal with this scenario you describe over and over. Yes -they have to show you how they have calculated the final amount in order for you to pay that account. As long as you have the emails asking them for the copy bill then you are perfectly within your rights to cancel your DD so that they do not take unauthorised amounts from your bank account. In over 1.5 years with them I was never able to get into my online account . When i checked the detail on several 3 monthly accounts (requested to be sent by email) there were several different type of errors amounting to a significant overcharge. You can ring the Energy Ombudsman for advice. Google them0

This is grim reading for this companyTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0

Was fine while they supplied me but having problems with final bills. They cancel the direct debit instead of cleanly collecting the final amounts so the final bills have to be settled manually. I phoned up, paid what was due and thought all was settled only to get another bill. Phoned up to sort it out but couldn't get through; they leave you on hold and don't answer the phone.
Based on this experience, wouldn't use them again0 -
its six weeks to the day that i left EE. still not received my gas bill, so had to make another contact with this company, to be told "they" have my bill. I have no idea why it was not forwarded to me much sooner, but glad to get rid of them. the bill was emailed to me, and had things like failed payments on. no idea what that means, i have emailed the customer adviser back, i doubt if he would respond.
I also asked when does the bill need to be paid?
I was meant to get a refund back today for my electricity. when i inquired where was it, i am told it could take up to 5pm.
I am so glad i am walking away from this company, it is not a good oneTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
yes -this is what i have been battling with for over a year. 'Failed payments' are deducted from the monies( via direct debits) you pay. They do not exist for me as I have never not paid a monthly DD. I had to go to Ombudsman to get this matter sorted and EE were told to pay me compensation and get rid of the incorrect 'failed payments' and incorrect deductions they had made on my account. Now -on leaving them 4 months later the scenario of failed payments has raised its ugly head again despite EE telling me that it was a glitch on the system they had resolved. grrrr.. EE really are incredibly incompetent.0

I would use resolver.co.uk. Promoted by MSE its helped me on multiple occasions with companies ignoring my calls. You can escalate to the relevant Ombudsman after a period of time. All tracked and traced in a case file in the system. Very useful for the Ombudsman as it keeps a trace of all contact.0
