    What is going on here?

I was wondering if their accounts would provide insight as to their cash position.

    ECONOMY ENERGY TRADING LIMITED
    Company number 07513319
    https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/07513319

    Confirmation statement overdue
Next statement date 7 September 2018
    due by 21 September 2018
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".
  • Would not recommend this company - switched last August - struggled with switch over process as they didn't give date of switch so no exact meter readings on that day! - having moved into flat 2 weeks before at least could get a good estimate that previous company accepted - took them several phone calls and letters for them to send further incorrect readings - then they started to take £95 per month DD for a small flat with one person living in it, I tried on many occasions to ask them to look at our usage and alter this but after three months wrote and said that i was cancelling direct debit - thinking that would create a response!
Wrong!! - still no communication - despite me pleading for a bill! - until a letter advising us that end of fixed term was approaching and what we could do.
No need to advise us - we were moving !! - waited until able to otherwise £25 exit fee.
New company - Octopus - no problem with switch - readings etc all good - just still waiting for a bill from Economy Energy (this was 3weeks ago)
Received a credit company letter instead sueing for non payment!!!! for £290
actual amount owed based on readings and tariffs £173.59- which I have now paid - as credit company has been able to forward me a bill

I have never ever had a problem with any service provider and am sickened by this - it is still not resolved!!
please do not use this company - even the staff - on one occasion when i rang on1st september - said oh i can see all your information I just dont know why you havent had a bill I can request one for you again!!!

Now these clowns have upped my cost by £200 a year after 2 months just got a email when will MSE remove these people. I have given 3 meter readings and no feed back it is shocking! I have no idea if I am in credit or debit. And I can't switch because it says switch in progress.

ditto - same situation - no response and then a credit union letter telling me I am been sued!!!!

I left these clowns 8 weeks ago for Powershop( not sure if they were the best to go to now) and i got an invoice from them for the last 3 weeks i was with them and was in credit for over £50.
I done a live chat as the phone takes too long and was told that after the switch i will get an credit paid to within 6 weeks.

I waited and 2 weeks ago i got an invoice for 8 days worth of usage but not the final bill so another live chat and was told once the reading are verified i will get final bill and credit paid to me.

Yesterday another live chat and this time they said Powershop never sent them the readings (both companies have the same start/end reading showing on both bill/invoice) they will have to wait for P/S to send them again before i can get my credit.

Yet another chat to them today only to be told that once reading is verified i will have to wait 28 days for credit which i knew about but when i put in the date i will be expecting the money the rep said that is wrong as it will take 28 working days so if i get the money it will help pay for Christmas drinks.

OMG! I've now got a huge sense of dread about what's coming. I didn't know about this feedback until now - I wish I'd seen it before I switched.

I switched to them in July & like many others got their price increase email. Which for me involved a projected 25% increase for Electricity and 68% for Gas!!! So I have switched, effective from 8th Oct. I have been contacting them today to find out why I've heard nothing from them - I didn't get the usual 'Sorry you're leaving' info email so I didn't know what timescales this company work to. I have regularly switched over the last few years and have never waited longer than a couple of weeks for a final bill and settlement either credit or debit. Anyway they have now told me that it can take around 6-8 weeks to produce the final bill and then I have to contact them again to 'ask for the refund' Errr, excuse me, why do I have to ask again? It's MY MONEY!!

Because of their dubious practice of taking double money upfront and them taking a DD 6 days before the switch completed, they have now taken 5 months worth of payments for 3 months of supply. But also those payments represent 5/12 of annual usage but the 3 months supply was over the summer so I reckon that I will be in credit by over £300........ which I may or may not get sometime near Christmas.

What I find shocking is that this is supposed to be a regulated industry and yet I feel well and truly scammed - I'd be interested to know how many of their customers receive notifications of these extortionate increases shortly after switching to them. As someone mentioned above it looks like a money-grabbing exercise and seems as though their primary business is pocketing interest from other peoples money whilst masquerading as an Energy Supplier!

#Sigh# I think it looks like I'll be contacting OFGEM in due course then.

    Hello.

After waiting weeks for my refund and live chat yesterday only to be told that refunds do not have a time limit to pay out i sent a complaint email with COMPLAINT in the heading.

Today i got a reply of sorts saying that i 1st made a complaint about non refund of credit 29 working days ago and there is a backlog for sending out these payments. In one of my posts i mentioned that EE said that the customer had to ask for the credit to be refunded an it's not automatic.
Any way the bit in my email that has got me worried/confused/not sure is this wording,

As the investigation into your complaint is now complete it has been logged and closed, if still ongoing, please advise how you would like me to proceed and if you require any further assistance please email me or call our customer service team on 0333 103 9053.

Does that mean EE have closed my complaint?
I did say in my email that i will give 10 days to pay me or i will go to OFGEM.

i emailed them on 31/10//2018 requesting that they refund my credit within 14 days and if not received withing that period i would be requiring compansation they replied same day saying received and where on it. but couple of days later i received a gas bill ( already received weeks b4 ) showing i was in credit and asking for payment.there a joke they have to pay me.If i dont receive my credit for gas and elec within 14 days as mentioned above i will send them an ivoice demanding payment for outstanding credit due and £50 added for compensation.
