Baldybear So sorry to hear about the loss of your Mum and your Dad's health. You are having such a hard time. Your story hit the heart strings with me. I lost my Mum September last year. She had moved house with us and moved into an annex. Had such plans for some lovely years together. But alas she was diagnosed with womb cancer and after being poorly with failed chemo decided to have palative care. It was hard seeing her in pain. The day after she died I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Going through the chemo is hard. It gives plenty of time to think things over. Life sucks sometimes. Good luck to you stay strong. Like you I want to clear my mortgage sooner rather than later. Xx

  • Ghost hugs for you both.

Youngsters are like that BB even ours who is eight now will regress given half a chance. Trainer sounds good.
  • I hope you have a refreshing break on holiday. It does sound like you need a break, you have so much going on.

I've been in tears a fair few times with horses, they can be trying at times. In fairness not just the horses, I can remember being in tears when training the dog too! It is Spring grass time as well, which must have hallucinogenic properties if mine are anything to go by :)

Hello, thank you for dropping by, we as a family, like you had plans for mum if dad's health failed first, which we always thought it would, mum always thought that too saying that she would be sad about dad but would always have us, dad doesnt seem to feel the same way which is frustrating but hey ho, keep going! So sorry to hear about your diagnosis too and at such a bad time too, I sympathise, I send you all the best luck in the world in your quest and health :A

So sorry world for not being on here sooner :)

    So I had a wonderful holiday, I stayed here..http://www.canopyandstars.co.uk/britain/wales/powys/maesyfelin/come-by#search_type=placeName&search_text=comeby&.

The pictures dont do it justice, its a lovely secluded spot, so quiet and beautiful. I went by myself which is just what I needed. The weather was beautiful all week :) Monday drove there and explored local area, lakes, streams, beautiful rolling countryside. Tuesday drove out to the coast and Aberystwyth way, went to the zoo then went further down the coast to New Quay, went out on a boat to spot dolphins, seals and sea birds, stonking hot, lovely. Wednesday I went riding in the lovely countryside, rode a fab horse called Bud, just loped along on the end of the reins, so chilled out, a good gallop on the top of the hills was great way to blow away the cobwebs. Unfortunately it was a bit too hot that day and ended up with horrendous heat rash on my arms, took myself of to local minor injuries unit and with some different anti-histamines and some calamine prescribed it went down quite quickly. Thursday went to a lovely local place called Elan Valley. Friday had a lovely lie in and a leisurely drive back. Didnt end up spending too much either, such a fab break :D

So back at the weekend, nice day out on saturday with family after a fab trainer session with the hoss in the morning, rode and upped my confidence so much :) Sunday just a day of washing and getting everything up to date.

Took dad on monday to nurse appointment at memory clinic, it turns out he isnt that happy living where he is, he says he wants to live on his own. Looking at the big picture there has been so much change and it will take him a while to settle. In an ideal world he could live by himself but he just isnt safe and he would need meals cooking for him plus general falls, hence the reason we moved in the first place. I also think he is missing mum and the company mainly, he hasnt said that but I think he is a bit lonely now things have settled down and got into a routine. We are looking at trying to get more activities organised for him, but he is quite fussy and doesnt help himself, sigh, again we are trying to do our best, and know some of the issues he has is due to his Alzheimers but it is still very hard dealing with it. Just taking a day at a time.

So back to work monday with a bump, shed loads to do so better crack on again in a minute!

So moneywise....didnt spend to much on holiday which was good, big grocery shop done at the weekend, all credit card spending paid of, all accounts even. Few bits of survey money has landed from yougov, mystery shopping and some amazon vouchers. Currently have £16 odd of amazon vouchers saved for future use.

So savings account currently stand at:

    Account Target Amount have now
    Fun 1000 53
    Holidays 500 379
    Horse 1140 100
    House 1000 209
    Insurance/car 1153 753
    ISA (Emerg) 5000 2522
    Misc 1200 10

So overall looking good, have standing orders set up for over £400 a month to top up accounts to not long to most of them reach goals, then can start cracking on with overpaying the mortgage :D

Hi Baldybear Sounds like you have a lovely time away. Just what you needed. It looks lovely there.

It is hard with single parents that are left. My Mum would not go to clubs or meeting s to meet anyone new. She would rather stay at home. Didn't even go shopping on the Asda bus after Dad died as she didn't want anyone feeling sorry for her. It's very hard to deal with you just have to be there for them and do your best which is what your doing. Take care xx
