Good afternoon
Lovely weekend, saturday spent £101 eek, but all on dad's birthday presents, joint with sister, she paid for dinner though so all even spends, paid on CC and paid of today. Friend came down helped with hoss, went out to local museum yesterday, small spend on toy for nephew. Uncle, aunt and cousins bought a load of plants to sisters on sunday so plenty to keep them going, I am going to nab a few too so my garden should look pretty.
Current growing plans are working, my strawberries are fab, runner beans, sprouts, carrots and lettuce are all showing signs of life tooAll helps with the pennies!

Hi,
Good luck with your journey. You have had a very rough time lately so deserve a nice break. I lost my mum, to cancer, in October 2015 too. We were told she was terminal a year before she died so it wasn't as sudden as your mum but still not good. She had bowel cancer. Luckily, she didn't suffer any pain and seemed ok right up until the end. It was sudden when she did die but, in a way, a blessing that she didn't suffer.

Morning
Hossie is called Phoenix, although stable name is grumpy which is very apt, started calling her that a while ago and it has stuck, she recognises her name, and the last few days she has definitely been living up to it  She has just turned 5 (in April), bought her as an unhandled yearling, done everything from scratch, with help, as never had a baby hoss before. Was just starting to ride properly with her when mum got ill, then of course hoss got injured and wow now its June and havent done anything properly with her for months.
So I have a holiday next week, but on return I am determined to start working her properlyIt does help that 2 of my friends on the yard have just left for pastures new (great pun :rotfl:) so no more evenings of just going down to work on hoss then getting distracted chatting.
This picture is a few years old now, need to get some better newer ones with me in it, she is touching 16hh now , my last pony was 13.2, but you get the overall picture.

Thank you both, not so lovely at the moment, feel like gone million steps backward, she is being a madam coming in, there is apparently something terrifying outside the gate that I cant see, grrr, she did this last year but cant remember how we got over it so back to simple steps, its very annoying, she has used that gate everyday for the last 4 years but last few days she just spins  Took her for walk round yard last night and did lots of walking in circles till she was bored of spinning and then just standing, back up, walk, repeat, she was listening in the end but need to keep repeating. Definitely going to get my trainer back after hols as feel need a bit of back up help.
So moneywise, another £10 amazon voucher landed from survey site so another bit put aside for when needed. Interest has been applied to accounts, about £5 over accounts, not great but soooooo much better than a wee while agoHouse insurance paid, all out of relevant fund.

Good morning, its friday last day at work before holiday but not really feeling it. Had a crappy evening
So lunchtime was good went out for lunch with sister, bro in law, nephew and dad for dad's birthday, it was good, met some of dads old friends there that hadnt seen in years so was a lovely surprise for him.
In the evening popped to sisters to give dad presents and cards which was ok on the whole apart from dad just being quite petty and stupid over things. Sister and nephew had made a cake, sister went to light candles and dad snatched them of her as he wanted to do, so he lit a match, trying to light the candles but his vision and perception isnt great and was really struggling. So match was at the end and about to burn dad so grabbed it of him before he hurt himself and he got into a strop and threw the match across the table, right at nephew, eventually got candles lit and then 5 minutes of persuasion for him to blow out as he didnt want to, wanted to keep candles lit and cut the cake with them still burning and was holding the cake right next to him as didnt want us to touch it. Its so frustrating as part of his behaviour is due to his Alzheimers and we have to take that into account but it just feels like everything is an argument, and its so very hard not to turn it into a row when you are so frustrated. Who knows what will happen we are just taking each day at a time.
So after that went down to do the hoss, and got her out of the field and she started spinning again, so thought I would take her into school and long rein her, get her listening. Well that didnt work, she hardly listened at all, freaking out at nothing there. I would describe her as feral and I am afraid I lost my temper with her and shouted at her to behave, of course she just ignored me so ended up in tears crying on her in the middle of the school. Just felt so useless. I know part of it is my fault as have hardly worked her and done nothing with her for 6 months, but given the past 6 months I can hardly be blamed, just bad timing. Also probably the frustrations of dad had put me in a bad mood so didnt help. Just felt like everything in life was crap and couldnt do anything rightSo brought her in and called my trainer and ended up crying down the phone to her too, luckily she is so lovely and can completely understand , she is booked to come down next saturday after I get back from holiday, fresh start and start from scratch if needed.
Still feel upset about it all now but nothing I can do, plan in place for the hoss, watch this space with dad. So now I feel like I have a cold coming, brilliant timing
So tomorrow get nephew for the day so sister can write school reports, sunday not much planned and then of on holiday for 4 nights on Monday, if I just end up chilling in my cabin then so be, just be nice to get away from it all with no pressure to do anything. Back on the friday evening and then saturday hoss trainer. The monday after have another appointment with memory clinic with dad so hopefully can get something positive out of that.
Onwards and upwards hopefully. No money news everything ticking over as it should be, at least one thing going okDebt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!
