The psychology aspect is so important and if paying off the debt makes you feel more in control then that's a good thing. I can't imagine the interest was life changing anyway :p

I think you are doing really well.

    Good afternoon :)

Thanks for dropping by mfmaybe, it is the pyschological aspect for me definitely :)

So have been paid, slightly more than anticipated, not going to moan, havent seen payslip yet so cant see how it all works but can look at that when I receive it. Quick prompt today from lodger and he has paid too.

So have paid of my Sains CC including a balance of £150 of horse food order which should have come out of budget but had balance to pay so can possibly use the £100 budgeted to roll over to next month. Am owed £73 cash from this order as ordered for friend but can use the cash again as "spare" so again bank budget should do well this month.

Have paid of my Bcard :)

Have paid of lump sum, including free council tax and "spare" money from account, total of £1209 of my Virgin CC so leaves a balance of £2441. Much better. Have also left £250 in my savings account for cash flow purposes, just in case lodger late again have enough to cover first few bills in there. Makes me feel better about long term budgeting :)

Its usually about £80 but that's for food, hay and bedding!

    My expenses usually are:-

£182 rent (DIY Livery) includes field, water, electric, stable
    £20 farrier - trim every 8 weeks
£80 - £100 month hay, bedding and hard feed

Luckily she is good doer and of course youngster doesnt eat much so feed her on Hi-Fi and budget pony nuts but she seems to thrive on this. Hay and bedding always a wee bit more in the winter when in longer and also put some hay in the field but now coming out of spring definitely notice the difference.

Also Spend approx £150 a year on annual vet visit.

Dont insure her too expensive, just put my own savings by.

If I go away and need YO to do her she charges £8 a day or £10 for the weekend to do everything or halve if only doing say just bring in etc. But on an everyday basis do everything myself twice a day, but am lucky yard is literally 5 mins walk from home :)

What a dream, mine is £130 a month on hard feed alone. As you say, might be able to drop that down a bit if spring arrives.

I tried DIY, but it was a 35min drive away and the YO charged £5 for a weekend turn out. I'm back on livery now where they look after him very well but I'm lucky if I'm under £1k a month after everything for the horse and lorry is included. :silenced:

Ouch what does she eat gold lol, hey they may as well, just wish it would come out the other end like that too :rotfl:

I would love a lorry or trailer so thats next on my list, so plans to change the car to a 4 x 4 but still suitable for everyday, looking at a Touraeg. Then of course the expense of the trailer test and then a trailer. Would love a lorry but dont think can justify the expense of another vehicle so this would do perfectly for me. If I dont achieve this year (extremely unlikely) then hopefully next year :)

I have two, "at home" and they still cost me about £700/month. In quotes because I actually rent land, which is part of the cost. But this doesn't include lessons, fuel or entries. Sigh.

Is this where I say that my total spending for my two in the last 12 months was £368.23 and a third of that was the vet bill for restarting their tetanus jabs, or will I get shot?? ;) They're at home, we own the land, and being native good-doers, they pretty much just eat grass, hay (made our own for the first time this year, which saved me about £450 buying in) and they go through a couple of bags of Coolstance Copra, a couple of bags of micronised linseed and about 7kg of Progressive Earth Pro-Mineral in a year between them. However, one's retired and the other is my occasional happy hacker, so no costs of competing or lessons, mainly because there isn't really anywhere to do either up here, and my farrier charges me £30 to trim both.

Super jealous of this, ability to make own hay definitely a massive money saver :money: And love your views with your land :)
