What does it matter what someones motivation is, basically ir is nobody elses business.

Ask the nearest female why they want so much spent on their engagement ring when you can buya perfectly good ring for £5 from Argos. I even hear some people waste £80 on a watch when my £9.99 watch is better and keeps better time .... ... I wonder what their motive for wasting so much was.

Well it's interesting to know what people's motives are because i personally I could never justify buying a £2000 watch with such a poor specification. It's easy to say it's nobody else's business but on an anonymous forum where people talk about a lot more personal and sensitive issues than the price of a watch it's difficult to justify the motivations behind the purchase of a watch being a no go topic! :)

It's also a good question to ask yourself when your making such a purchase. If you just stop and think "wait can i justify buying this" instead of just rushing into it you end up buying much more suitable items for a better price!

But i'l quite happily discuss where you can get a watch for £9.99 that automatically synchronizes the time with the Anthorn signal every day, is waterproof and shockproof and has battery in it that never needs replacing. But i highly doubt your claims are true because i did a good amount of research before i bought my watch and couldn't find a better one any cheaper than £80.

    There, that's more like it.

Spending 2K on a watch is not a lot of money for some people. My OH collects watches and has many, too many in my opinion but the overall cost would give some people a fright. If it's too much for you to contemplate, then fine, but the OP doesn't have to answer to anyone on here.

A sensible post at last....I collect watches 3 so far but building my collection, rightly so 2k aint much.
Currently own Longines admiral,Omega seamaster, and chris ward c60 all auto's
You can never have enough watches :)

    Bless.I can't " justify" spending £2000 on a piece of jewellery , but if I could , I'd buy it if I liked it .
I buy shoes sometimes that cost £60 or £ 70 . Other times I pick up a pair used for £2 . I know some people who think it's extortionate to spend that much on a pair of shoes -who's right?

Hey, if I'm a troll then you are only slightly better for criticising me about my apple watch purchase (which you had no initial reason to suspect was a lie - maybe it isn't a lie after all, it is again none of your business (which I accept as advice from other people's posts in relation to my posts too))!!

This section is "praise, vent and warnings" - I've had my vent.

I've also given SOGA/Warranty advice. And you know what? I can't see a single mention of this in ANY of your posts:
There is no doubt about you being a troll. You clearly admitted posting a lie in order to elicit a response, something that is the very definition of trolling.
My comment was simply my opinion and response to something already posted and posting an opinion can in no way be considered trolling the forum.

Why would I want to comment on the SOGA and warranty considering that this had already been answered and neither of the two had any significance as the SOGA doesn't apply and the warranty had long since expired.

You keep saying that the TH watch is less accurate but that is not true, it is still a Quartz watch. You can certainly say that about mechanical watches, but the point about owning one is that as well as being functional it is a piece of superb craftsmanship put together by skilled workers, and I value that more than knowing the time to the nearest second.

Properly serviced it will go on for a 100 years or more. For super accuracy most people just need to look at their mobile, so you could save even more money by not having a watch at all, but lots of us like to wear one, and as it is the only jewellery I wear £2k is quite frankly cheap, and I may even get another in the very near future as I have a hankering for this one.

Oh! and before anyone tells me I should give that to charity, charities already get considerably more of my income than watch manufacturers do.

Well, aside from the apple watch issue, I've only posted my opinions. So I can copy and paste your last sentence and it applies equally to EVERYTHING ELSE!

So you've got me on one little thing, but even so it served to prove a point and I wasn't making a huge effort to allude to it!

So, whilst it may be trolling, it was only maybe 1 step up from what you are doing :)

Because it is courteous towards the OP? Even before I went into rant mode there was an acknowledgement of marliepanda's post + some additional information! Yours was just straight in to criticise me.

At least you've now discussed the two things! Would be interesting to know why SOGA doesn't apply, as it may help OP if they return to the forum.

The SOGA doesn't apply because the original purchase was made in Switzerland.

So does Switzerland have anything equivalent?
