TAG Watch Repair Cost - SCAM

Back to lifestyle choices though. I can't imagine ever being in the position where I would pay £2000 for a watch. My Tissot seems extremely expensive for a timepiece to me. Yet I have a £2000 bicycle. I bet many of the people on this thread, who are relaxed about a £2000 watch would find that impossible to get their head round.
Choices, choices ...... and we're all different.
But I bet your £2000 bike is better than a £100 bike. If it's a modern bike it will be lighter, have better brakes, higher quality components and engineered to tighter tolerances which all accumulates to it being able to be ridden faster and easier than a £100 bike. So is better and doing what a bike is designed for.
The £2000 mechanical watch is less accurate than my £80 digital watch that sets the time itself. The £2000 watch also has less features and is not impact resistant and doesn't have a stopwatch etc. So the £2000 watch is worse at measuring time which is the function of a watch. So this means that people are spending £2000 on a poor watch.
Alot of people tried to justify it by saying that the £2000 watch looks a lot better. But I really don't think anyway could possibly say how it is 20 times better looking than a £100 watch!.0 -

Of course I won't! I find this all slightly amusing seeing people justify paying 20 times more money for an inferior product on a money saving forum!.0 -
whats slightly amusing is continuing to comment on a thread in which the OP hasn't returned in months simply to comment repeatedly about your own watch0

Or to comment on a thread about a product you dont even own or have any experience of.....Hilarious.
Still thats how it is.0 -

Obviously you don't know how forums work :rotfl: I am replying to comments made by other posters. You don't need the OP to be actively commenting to continue a thread!.0 -

If you find that hilarious then you have a very dull sense of humour. Why would I need to own an expensive watch to be able to comment on them?. I have seen plenty of them so I know what they look like and the technical specifications are freely available online showing their inadequacy as a timepiece.
I am actually surprised how offended people get when they are challenged to explain why they paid so much more for a technically inferior product.0 -
No one is offended, your comments are hilarious. You seem to be the only one getting offended on here.
Are you also an expert on Lamboughini's having never owned one, but you've 'seen' one therefore you can compare it to the car you own and conclude that your car is far superior
My Tag was bought as a gift and i love it. :rotfl:0 -

I never said I was an expert on watches but I don't need to own one to be able to look at the available data and facts about a product to determine if it is worth the money or not. I'm also definetly not offended, why would I be?.
But considering that you own a Tag watch, what makes it worth 20 times more than a more accurate watch?
If you went into a garage and your car needed a new gearbox. You had the option of an equivalent replacement for £200 or a gearbox that was gold plated, had a nice design on the outside but was more difficult to put in gear for £4000. Which option would you choose?0
