im glad you researched them road_hog because thats 1 extra person that will know what horrible people they are, the biggest mistake of my life and if anybody ever mentioned to me that they were ever considering going near them i would personally hold them down to keep them fron what would be the biggest they could ever make. my partner was desperate for help and these people prey on the needy with only 1 thing in mind and that is to take your car from you. you woild only have to be an hour late with 1 payment and thay will charge you and fron that very first charge it will spiral without you even knowing abot it

well, a few months ago my partner had a loan from them for £500 on the strength of the log books to our car, after paying for a few months we missed a payment but payed double the following week, then we recieved a letter saying that they were to add a charge to our account for the missed payment. the following week i made payment as usual when we had a call to say that we were being charged again because of late payment, i told them that i had payed and was told that the payment i made that week came off the charge so no payment had been made off the loan so we were charged. it went on like this for another 2 weeks when i told partner to call them and ask for a settlement, we were told that we had payed £480 off the £500 that we lent so would have to pay another £980 to settle. we could not do that so partner told them we was not paying another penny if that was the case, anyway woke up a few days later at 6am to find that my car had been clamped on my drive with a not on window saying do not remove ring this number, rang the number and 10 mins later 2 bailiffs arrived and said to contact log book loans and they would tell us what to do, called them and they said if we wanted to keep the car we had to pay £2600, yes £2600!!

there was no way we could pay that so bailiff took the keys from the table and drove off in the car, we phoned police but was told that it was a civil matter and wouldnt get involved, i was heart broken!

a month later, thanks to wig he found out that it was about to be sold at bca that is 5 mins away from my house so i went straight over there but unfortunately i could not get hold of my partner or family because they were in work to get any money to me so i had to stand there and watch somebody pay just 625 for my car and drive away in it.

i was stood there with the spare key in my hand trying to convince myself that it would be ok if i got in and drove the car home because it was mine, what stopped me ii do ot know, im glad now that i didnt because i would have been in so much trouble!
anyway it has gone now so i just have to save my pennies so that i can buy another 1 the same, i loved that car and am grateful that i got a chance to say goodbye:cry:

Cazindo, you have my sympathies, I have been fortunate to never had to have had a loan except a mortgage, albeit if I didnt have the cash, I didnt buy it, but that does not suit everyone, especially if you have to travel and cant rely on public transport, which doesnt always or hardly ever does suit.

The charges you show are almost criminal, I dont know if they would have been less if you had rang them to say you were missing a payment, but looking at the settlement fee, I would doubt it.

Hope things work out and you did the right thing by letting it go, so good luck and thanks for sharing your story.

    Hi,
I have just been reading some of this thread and was considering BCA on advice from a relative. I am after a Zafira, I was told that I would be able to get one cheap from BCA Manchester. Do prices vary between London (enfield) and Manchester?

Just found this thread and would be very grateful if anyone could provide info of any Grand Scenics coming up for auction. Full details:

    Renault
    Grand Scenic
    Any spec except authentique
    1.9 (prefer 130bhp - but120 will do)
    diesel
    Manual
05 onwards - thought would obviously prefer as new as possible for money
    Circa £6000
Brighouse is nearest but anything in north really - noticed that renault have sales at Nottingham

Thanks in advance - have been looking to buy in normal ways and just thought I'd have a look to see if auction is a better bet - though reading through this thread it seems possibly not!
