Unable to have credit report generated. Any ideas?

Noodle suggest I may have a 'thin report', whilst Clear-Score suggest errors in spellings or data held on the electoral role etc..
I've been on the electoral role - with correct details, having checked - since 2004; I hold a joint bank account with overdraft facility and all my energy bills are via DD. Both the bank account and energy bills are jointly named, and show up on my partners credit reports, so I assume they would on mine - if a report could be generated.
For comparison, my children, now in their late teens have no credit, but have had credit reports generated - albeit very thin ones.
In sum, I am noted on the electoral role correctly, my children who have very thin credit details can have a report generated. Therefore, can anyone shine any light on the problem I'm having ?

noddle are rubbish to be fair. but it's just a version run by callcredit.
apparently having loans or any information is not good enough for them.
i wouldn't worry to much.
you can use a site like checkmyfile.com which looks at all 3 partially0 -
It sounds very frustrating. Just a few quick fix questions here, albeit stating the obvious but sometimes we don't see the wood for the trees when we are doing something ourselves.
Are you trying to use a familiar name instead of a full name? eg Andrew = Andy.
The voting cards should be around any day now so check that you haven't got anything grammatically wrong on that for your address. eg House name, then number = house number, then name. That is a known problem for people who live in flats/apartments etc, the formatting can be a nightmare.
Have you tried doing it directly with Experian and/or Equifax [free trial I mean, not paying anything.....don't forget to cancel the subscription if you are going to do this

Hi
I'm using my full name, I've also checked my voting card for the recent elections, and checked on the electoral roll at my local council - all is correct.
I've also tried Equifax, which gives the same result as the other two.0 -
Have you not applied for anything since 2004?
No new bank accounts, haven't changed utility providers anything like that?
If you have applied, did it go through with no problems?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. We changed utility suppliers around three months ago, apart from that I've not applied or had any new credit since 2004.
I don't hold a credit card, phone contract etc. I live on what I earn, so I can understand there not being a credit record to build; however, I'd have thought something would show as it did with my children.0 -

So when your OH has looked at theirs, is there anything on it that is more recent than the joint account/utilities from a while ago.I don't hold a credit card, phone contract etc. I live on what I earn, so I can understand there not being a credit record to build; however, I'd have thought something would show as it did with my children
I think this is where the problem is. Everything seems to be quite historic [apart from the utility change recently]
Do you have a phone contract that is in your OHs name or anything or do you not have the need for it.
Are you due to apply for a new current account or any kind of credit facility?
Why were you initially checking it? or was it just curiosity.

My partners reports are fine, high score, no issues. The utilities account is the only thing that has changed for the pair of us.
We were setting up a joint savings account but the building society was unable to digitally ID me and required the usual ID. Out of curiosity I checked the credit agencies to see if I could find anything wrong....and here I am lol0 -

Ah, yes, that makes total sense.
Unfortunately a savings account doesn't get recorded on your CR so you are no further forward.
If you were to apply for any other kind of credit facility eg a current account, you will be in the same situation. Although, just a 'by the way' comment...some current accounts offer very good interest rates that may be worth saving in. TSB 5% etc.
Might be something to consider not only to get a good return for your savings but also to give you some sort of history to build on.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. I have a cousin with the same problem as you. She is a widow owns house with no mortgage, no driving licence, no passport, no credit cards, is on the electoral register. But she is always asked to send proof of id. She opened a Nationwide flexdirect current account easy enough as they didn't need to make a credit check as she had substantial savings with them. She opened a Birmingham Midshire savings account easily as she already had Halifax savings. But when she tried to apply for Leeds Building Society she needed proof of id"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

If the joint bank accounts are showing up on your partner's reports, then you need to write to the head office of said banks and ask them to include your name when also reporting to the credit reference agencies. This is the only way you will get yourself opted in so to speak of the credit reporting of your account. I had to do this with one of my accounts and it now shows on Experian and Equifax.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards.
